Update: My Aspirations
...............................................................
Things have been going really well for me of late. I'm really happy with the way my life has turned out. I used to be this girl who was really unsure of everything, who didn't know what she wanted in life. I guess over time, you do mature, and you do come to realize the things that you want. What I want, nothing more in this world is love, friendship and family, and not forgetting a job that I really love. A few days ago, I received a suggestion on Formspring. Someone had asked me what my aspirations are. I guess everyone's aspirations changes over time.
I remember how I always wanted to be a teacher when I was younger, because I loved teaching.

I loved everything about it. Guess you could also sort of say I was a little sadistic for liking the part where I have the authority to reprimand my class. Hahaha.
I also remember there was even a time when I wished I were a Taxi Driver.

Haha, I was just fascinated by the metre. It seemed so fun just driving around, yet being able to charge people for it.
Of course that wish died, because I wanted more. I wanted to be soo much more than just that.
Then came in the dream of wanting to be a News Anchor!

Hahah I remember how irritated my friends in Secondary used to be each time I tried putting on the 'News Anchor Voice' during English class, especially when we were given any sort of Comprehension passage. Hahah.
Soon after, came the dream of me wanting to become an Air Stewardess.

Hmm, I won't deny the fact that I still am pretty keen on flying if ever given the opportunity. I would love to travel all around the world, seeing different people, tasting different kinds of food.
A job like this would be an absolute dream come true. But the only disadvantage? Missing out on soo much in life. Not being able to spend time with your loved ones. Being apart from my boyfriend/future husband. ):
But what I always aspired the most was being a Radio Deejay.

I fell in love with Radio Deejaying ever since I heard Habbo's UK Online Radio Station. Yes, I was a former Habbo Hotel player. Hahah.
I got myself involved with an online Radio Station , and soon after, I started deejaying almost everyday, reeling in about 40 listeners per session. Guess it was nothing big then, but to me it was, since other radio deejays usually got about 20 listeners? Music will always be my getaway. When I'm listening to music, I feel as though my soul has been pulled into a new dimension. A new place, a place where I'd never ever want to be apart from. Music was my soul, and it brought me soo much joy being able to share the music I loved with people from all around the world.
My listeners told me it was something about my voice, something about it was just so soothing to listen to. Some even said, it was almost as if, I were a real radio deejay at a real radio station. From then on, that became my dream. That was the only reason why I wanted to pursue a Diploma in Mass Communications. I guess I could still tell you, that , that will forever be a dream of mine. An aspiration that will never die, because if I had a chance to play music again at a real radio station, I definitely would. Sometimes I have a few regrets in life, although I know my friends always tell me to move forward. That life is too short to have any regrets. But I really can't help it. I can't help feeling so disappointed in myself. If only I had studied harder during my O levels, maybe, just maybe, my dream would have been so much more real today. Maybe.. a few years down the road, I would have been a Radio Deejay?
But nevertheless, I'm still happy with where I am right now. So to the person who asked me, what my aspirations were, well you can sort of see that it changes all the time.
A dream of mine till this very day is to definitely be a Radio Deejay, if I ever get a chance to.
But then again, the future is still uncertain....
And sometimes, we don't always get what we want in life.
What are your dreams? My only advice to you is, never ever doubt yourself. If you want something, chase for it. You only live once. Don't live with regrets.
Lots of Love,
Sofia Dendroff
