Ok Hi all!

Now down to serious business. The above was just plain retarded. HAHA, i know! But now, I'm gonna answer a question I get very frequently in my Formspring Inbox.
The question being, "How do I lose weight?".



A lot of us are insecure our weight. Even a girl whom you may think is very skinny, may be insecure about some parts of her body. Take me for example, I always get people telling me to stop complaining about my weight. But hey, although I do complain, at least I DO SOMETHING about it.
Remember my tweet I tweeted about a week ago. I made a bet with my mum. I told her and convinced her, that I would lose 3-4kg within the next week or so.
Of course I didn't shed that much weight within such a short period of time. But I'm happy to tell you, that I'm almost there.
So far, within a week or so, I've lost 2 kg!

Read on.

Losing weight is mind over matter. It's all about discipline. Before I start, let me just tell you this, diets... they DON'T WORK. I know because I often get into one, lose the weight I aimed to get, and gain it back all over again.
If you wanna stay slim and healthy permanantly, you gotta make sure you change your lifestyle. Diets are only temporary, there's no such thing as a permanant diet.
Below are some tips you may follow that might help you in achieving your dream weight.

  • Weigh yourself and chart it.
    Each morning, weigh yourself on a weighing scale and log it immediately. Your weight, of course, will slowly decrease from day to day, and you'll definitely feel a sense of accomplishment, when you realize that the change in your lifestyle is actually helping you lose weight.
  • Avoid Macdonalds AT ALL COSTS!

And I'm being really serious here. Macdonalds.. Fast food.. they only give you temporary satisfaction.
Let me ask you this, how many of you have asked yourself this question every time after you finish say for example, a Cheeseburger Meal.
"Omg, I shouldn't have eaten Macdonalds. I feel damn fat now".

Maybe not exactly the same, but somewhere around that line..

Why make yourself feel like shit from eating? When you can feel absolutely good about yourself after eating?
I've had alot of friends who lost alot of weight before, and the question I always ask them, "How did you lose the weight?".

Almost ALL of them, told me they didn't eat Macdonalds anymore.
  • Low-Carb Diet
    If you want to eat rice, make sure you eat it only once a day. As for me, I'm currently on a Low-Carb diet, so, no rice for me. Although I say diets don't work, I'm temporarily on it because of my modeling, and a change in lifestyle won't give me results right away. However, I do intend to change my lifestyle permanantly and I'm very determined to do so.

  • Eat alot of fruits and vegetables.
    You probably won't believe me if I say that eating fruits and vegetables for lunch or dinner can make you JUST AS FULL as when you eat it with rice. If you don't believe it, try it.
    For the past week or so, I've been eating my greens alot.

    My Diet for the past week or so:

    Breakfast: A bowl of Cereal / 2 steamed Siew Mai
    Lunch: A bowl of stir-fried Vegetables with some meat(beef,fish,chicken)
    Dinner: Fruits and Vegetables and some meat like chicken, beef or fish.
    Snacks: If I'm hungry, I'd have a glass of orange juice or fruits. And occasionally, I'd treat myself to some chocolate.

    The trick is, you don't want to starve or deprive yourself of all your favourite food, just make sure you eat them moderately. It's all about how you plan your meals.

  • Exercise Exercise.
    Nothing will make you shed those pounds if you don't work for it, in other words, exercise. Exercise can be in all sorts of forms, you don't have to jog, if you don't like to run. If you like to dance, then dancing can also be a form of exercise.
    It all depends on you. Even something like cycling,rollerblading, can be a form of exercise.
    As for me, I try my best to jog 2 to 3 times a week if time permits.

  • Start Reading Nutrition Labels.
    I know it sucks but you gotta learn to do it, otherwise you'd just over-exceed the maximum number of calorie intake that you've planned for yourself. As for me, I try my best not to eat more than 1800 calories a day.

  • Find lower-fat alternatives.
    Don't fully deprive yourself of what your like, just improve it.
    If you like eating chicken, don't eat fried chicken, eat it steamed, baked or even grilled. It's much healthier than eating it fried.
    If you want to drink milk, opt for Low-fat Milk instead of full cream. Yes, even too much milk can be fattening.

  • EAT SLOWLY!
    If you scarf down your meals, you are probably overeating because of it. I know, because I have to slow myself down a lot. The thing is, it takes awhile for our brains to get the message that we’re full. So if we eat quickly, we will actually eat past fullness. You’ve probably had that painful, “I’ve eaten way too much!” feeling, and it’s because of fast eating. The trick is to teach yourself to eat slowly. You’ll get full on less food.

  • Stop drinking calories.
    Calories in soda, coffee, tea(your milk tea, green tea blabla), juice and other beverages are very sneaky, because you don’t realize how many calories you drink a day. Instead, drink water. Lots of it, all day long. Water makes you full, without giving you calories.

I wish you guys all the best! Just get through it a week, and I'm pretty sure your body will be used to this diet of yours by then. Whatever it is, don't give up. If you need more motivation, do what I do, read about Weight loss success stories on the internet. Feeling the same way how others have felt before, and reading about how their determination to lose weight finally led them to shedding those unnecessary pounds, will definitely motivate you even more.

If they can do it, SO CAN YOU! :)
