So, the eve and the day of halloween were both spent at the Night Safari. I know what you guys must be thinking... woah.. so 'enthu' ah..
Well, that's how much fun the Night Safari really was.
However, all the fun and activities were done on the eve of Halloween. So basically my family and I spent hundreds of dollars(really expensive) to book the Halloween tickets and the Halloween Special 'Gruesome Treats' dinner in advance, which wound up being really worth it because everything was so soo soooo well organized. The food was awesome, the experience was awesome. Everything was awesome. Not once did I feel a pinch of sadness or regret that so much money was spent for Halloween.

However the only thing that disappointed me a little was the weather and something else which you will later discover in the later part of this post. I was having a mix of emotions when I saw the sky went dark and the clouds were grey. Not again, I thought...
I don't know why but everytime I wanna go to the zoo or basically, whenever I look forward to something, it always rains. Thankfully, the rain stopped before dinner began! Phew! THANK YOU GOD! But please don't play with my feelings again.. :'(
I would literally cry if the whole night turned sour because of the weather.

The moment my family(except my older brother cos he was off celebrating Halloween with his friends -.- ) my boyfriend and I stepped into Night Safari, we saw so many people all wonderfully dressed up for the occasion. For some Halloween, is the one night where looking ugly and horrible is excusable. But for some, it's the one night where looking slutty is acceptable. Thankfully, I didn't see any slutty outfits in Night Safari. I mean come on, it's a family place. Wouldn't want the 'ghosts' humping you right?
Take it to the club or elsewhere. :P

Once again, Night Safari really impressed me. The decorations, the wonderfully made up ghosts and ghouls for the night were really impressive! The moment I stepped in, I knew that the day was going to be a memorable and a spectacular one, and indeed it was.

As we had some time to spare before dinner commenced, we all decided to walk around for abit and take some pictures with the halloween characters in the Night Safari.

Bat-girl? Haha, i don't know what she was, but she looked really creepy. Makes me wonder how much time was spent painting that much makeup/paint on her face and body.

Hokay, she really creeped me out. After this picture was taken, she suddenly turned and leaned her head forward towards me really quickly which led to me giving out a really loud scream! HAHA, WOOHOO! THE FIRST SCREAM FOR THE NIGHT. With many many many more to come though. I nearly lost my voice by the end of the night.

The 'emo' ghost as labelled by Shafiq. He'd look down and emo one corner and rub his doll(dressed like him- LOL) with his hands and suddenly glare and give out a screechy scream to whoever who takes a picture with him or come near him.

Favourite character in the Night Safari! :) He really knows how to get me screaming like a lunatic. He's just really creepy and I don't know why but for the entire night, alot of ghosts especially the clown, keep picking on me.My dad says, it's probably because of the bunny ears. HAHAH

Family :) Wish Omar was there though. :(

After that, it was DINNER TIME. Yay, like finally! I was really looking forward to dinner because the menu was seriously very interesting. Also, we received priority boarding on the Train of Terror, which probably saved us about an hour or more or queueing, so it was definitely well worth it!

This was the menu for the night. :)

Food Offerings:
  • Goblin’s Blood Mocktail
  • Bloody Pond Beetroot & Tomato Soup
  • Monster’s Hand Shepherd’s Pie
  • “Death By Chocolate” Brownie
  • Ghoulish Chocs
  • The Devil’s Brew Coffee & Tea

Such a nice big table reserved for us! I felt like a VIP really because the corner was small, and alot of attention was given to us.

The Goblin's Blood Mocktail was the first to arrive.

Along with syringes.

Wow how cool. We were supposed to 'inject' our drinks with the green liquid! :D

and VOILA! :D MAGNIFIQUE.

After that, we were give n some appetizers like bread with butter and stuff, but I didn't take a picture of that, because it looked normal.

After which, came the soup - Bloody Pond Beetroot & Tomato Soup

Oh my goodness, the soup was absolutely delicious! It was honestly SO DAMN GOOD! If only this was a permanant item on the menu. :( I'd eat this everyday.

After that the MAIN COURSE - Monster's Hand Shepherd's Pie

May look a little creepy but don't be deceived by how it looks, it's the best shepherd's pie I've tasted in my life. I don't know why la, but everything was just so damn good. I doubt it was cos I was hungry, it really was THAT good. The potato was so soft and so creamy, and the meat so chewy and tender. Yummy!

Look carefully. Do you know what THAT is...? ;)

After that, a few ghosts started streaming in. Part of the dinner specialty was the ghosts. If we survived dinner, we would get priority boarding. HAHA

After that, it was DESSERT - "Death by Chocolate" Brownie

Doesn't that just look mouth watering?
Indeed it was, and that's why I feel sorry for you that you weren't there. HAHAH, if you were, HIGH-FIVE !

Was eating my brownie halfway when this ghost suddenly crept behind me and scared the living daylights out of me. I screamed so loudly everyone turned and started laughing. :(
I just wanted to eat my brownie in peace. :'(

After the brownie, we were served with Ghoulish Chocolates & Devil's Brew Coffee & Tea. However, I forgot to take photos of them. :(

HAHA, and this guy again was here... tsk...
And yes, he did scare me.. AGAIN. Damn, it must be the bunny ears.

Some of the waitresses who served us during dinner. :)

It's so cool that even they look scary. Night Safari really did a splendid job lah! I can't say that enough.

After dinner, off we went to the Train of Terror! All Gruesome Treats diners had a special tram waiting for us at 7.45pm. How VIP-ish. I felt bad looking at the really really long queue of people waiting for the train, but really... it's just that their fault for not wanting to pay extra. :P

OMG, SO EXCITING! :D

The train ride wasn't as scary as I thought it would be, but it was really fun and relaxing. The ambience was a little creepy though, especially how the tram guide spoke in an eery voice, and how the music really changed the whole mood and setting during the train ride.
For a moment, I really did believe that those ghosts were real.

After the train ride, we all grew thirsty, so my family and I made a pit stop at the restaurant and bought some refreshments, while the kids -Myself, Shafiq and my younger brother bough a Jelly Syringe each.

Looks like this.
The red stuff inside is made of jelly! Was nice at first, till I started telling myself that what I was drinking was really blood. I guess it's the fact that I was drinking from a syringe that kinda made me feel like gagging in between 'gulps'.

Shafiq was forcing himself to finish it. HAHA, couple really do think alike.. ;)

But my younger brother, he seemed to really enjoy it. I couldn't finish mine as it was too unbearable, so my brother helped me by finishing it. HAHA.

After that, we each enjoyed a nice hotdog. :)

Even the hotdog looks like a finger! :)

So anyway, after some light refreshments, we continued our journey! :)
The next stop?

The Trail of The Undead....

I wanna be scared but I can't, because she reminds me too much of a Mosquito. *takes a fly trap*

As it was really dark, I couldn't see how this ghost really looked like. All I saw was pitch black and a small hint of white from the dress. Never knew how scary her face really was. Eeek.

I didn't really take much pictures of the walk because I wanted to enjoy it more than have to worry about taking pictures. Another reason is because my camera doesn't work too well with the dark.

Memories Of The Departed

HAHAH, This is soooo funny! Omg, what am I? rabbit woman?
And my brother! HAHAHA, IN A DRESS!

After the Trail of the Undead, it was time to visit the most talked about Halloween Horrors attraction in the Night Safari -

The Haunted Village @ The Gui Mansion.

When we got there, I was shocked to see the SUPER DUPER LONG QUEUE. We ended up queueing for about 2 and a half hours by the way.
I'm amazed that I lasted that long standing up, seriously.

Awww sooo cuteee lah my baby! *pinch cheeks*

After waiting in the dark for so long, we finally saw how the Gui Mansion looked like up close!

Wow... it looks amazing really. I wonder how much money was invested into the construction of this building.

Please excuse our tired faces. Standing and queueing for 2 and a half hours is NO JOKE!
We finally made it though! :D

I have to say I was really disappointed though with the Gui Masion. I understand that there was a long line of people waiting, but waiting 2 and a half hours, for only like 5 minutes, probably less in the mansion is seriously a WASTE OF TIME!

It was neither scary nor memorable., All I remember was walking and walking, seeing some ghosts here and there and suddenly... we're already out of the mansion? I mean like... W.T.F Man.. W.T.F.
I'd much rather see people getting scared than wait near 3 hours for something like that!
Really disappointing luh... that's all I can say.
And I can't believe that people actually told me it was really scary...
Make me soo excited and have such high hopes and expectations for what? Tsk... -.-

Yeah of course we did. It wasn't even scary.

So anyway, that's the end of my Halloween for DAY 1.
DAY 2 which is the actual day of Halloween itself was also spent at theNight Safari. This time, it was spent with the addition of my cousins who just wanted to have a look at some of the ghosts there! :)

DAY 2 @ The Night Safari (Halloween Day Itself)

HAHA, HELLO NIGHT SAFARI ONCE AGAIN! :)

Tribal performance.

Then again we bumped into the same clown who refused to leave me alone. HAHA. I remember him chasing me round and round and round. It was really scary. I felt like a movie star starring in a Horror film. Well, if it was real, I wouldn't have survived anyway, because he caught up with me somehow. :(

He even disturbed my cousin! HAHA, so cute la.

The pontianak looked helluva scary!

We also saw this guy dressed as a fairy. Freaking cute lah please, so we decided to take a picture with him!

He asked me,"So what kinda pose do you want me to do?"
I replied him, "Anything that looks feminine".

And this is the pose he did...

HAHAH! FREAKING FUNNY LAH!

My aunt got damn scared of the clown that she was screaming her head off and even ran away. HAHA, so funny!

All in all, Halloween this year was really blast! And I'm so happy that I spent it with my family members and my boyfriend! :) Hopefully next year's Halloween will be just as fun, and who knows, maybe even better? :)

Till then!

P.S Hope I didn't hurt your eyes with the amount of pictures. HAHA
By the way, it took me hours to finish this entry.. so.. DON'T COMPLAIN! teehee. :D
Oh and I apologize for any spelling errors! Didn't really have time to check. :P

Lots of Love,
