Hari Raya - 1st Day
.............................................................

Honestly, the year passes too fast. The fasting month came and went too fast, and wow.. it's already the 5th day of Hari Raya. How scary is time honestly? It comes and goes, way too fast. So this year, for some reason, I was really looking forward to Hari Raya. I don't know why. It's really been a long time since I've felt this way. The last time I did, was when I was still a kid. I still remember my childhood as if it were just yesterday. The night before Hari Raya, I'd be unable to sleep and I'd wake up really early, all jumpy and excited hurrying my parents to go get ready just so we could start our visiting, and yes, of course, I really looked forward to the green packets. C'mon, which kid doesn't at that age? That's probably one of the main reasons, that keeps them all excited, besides the delicious kueh of course. Hahah. At least for me it was.

One thing that has definitely changed for me though, is that, I no longer find the money receiving at the end of every house visit as exciting as it was, years ago. It holds less value for me I guess. Maybe it's cos of age. It's cos I grew up. Or maybe it's cos, I cherish the meaning behind every house visit more, than just valueing the green packet itself. Hari Raya is indeed a beautiful festive occasion every year. The togetherness that I feel with my family is really the best feeling ever. Preparing for Hari Raya itself is always something to look forward to because every Hari Raya, I'd see my house transform magically within such a short period of time! This year, my parents changed alot of things in the house. From the front porch, to the living room, the study area etc. There's even a water dispenser machine in my house can you believe that? Hahaha. the kind that can give you hot and cold water.

Hari Raya is awesome because, it's the day when everyone starts catching up on what they've missed in each other's lives. If only Hari Raya could be everyday. :)

This year, Hari Raya was happy yet sad. It was sad because my boyfriend would be away in camp. :( Sigh. I do wish he could have joined us. I really miss him so much. Hope he's doing fine in camp. To all the girlfriends out there with boyfriends who're in the army, hang in there! I know it's hard, but it'll all come to an end soon. :)

So the first day of Hari Raya started off with my boyfriend coming over in the morning to visit my parents. :)

And my mum stuffed him with Sambal Prawns, Lontong and Rendang!
Gahh, honestly the best ever! Every year, I look forward to this! The smell of the food cooking the night itself before Hari Raya, hypes me up for Hari Raya even more!

Yeah la yeah la. My head always tilted. You guys are really super observant. Hahaha. I can't help it. It just comes naturally whenever I take pictures and I admit it's my better side. Ok c'mon, if you had the choice to take pics of your better side or your worse side, which would you take?

And honestly, if you've been reading my blog entries a long time, how different can pictures be from one another? How many poses can you actually come up with? haha

My family and I, with my older brother missing from the picture. :p

So after this, my boyfriend had to head back home to prepare to book in at 7pm. :( Sigh.

Right after, it was time to visit the first house: My uncle's.

And as usual, the thing I look forward to a whole lot. Hehe, THE FOOD!!!

Younger brother and cousin. :)

My dad reminds me of a white Hang Tuah.

Me and my aunt. :)

The 3 sisters.

My cute nieces! :)

It was so cool going around visiting with 4 cars.

Nutella Roll! This is one of my favourites!

And so is Kueh Lapis!!

I don't know what this is called, but every year my cousins and I really look forward to this red jelly thing! It's just sooo addictive. It's like, once you have one, you'd just want more and more! Hahah

So yeah lah, this year's Hari Raya, was quite good I guess! I enjoyed myself, and I enjoyed the company I had with me. Hari Raya, the time of the year to forgive and forget. Life is too short to hold any grudges anyway.

So if you're wondering why my Hari Raya clothes look familiar, it's because it's from Studiofrost! Hahah :D nice right? I really love it. super comfy to wear also. :)

Before I end off this entry, here's a video for you to watch!

Selamat Hari Raya! :D Hope your Hari Raya went as well as mine or maybe, even better!
Till the next blog entry. xoxo

Lots of Love,
