Perth Adventures IV(Part 4) .........................................................

So I finally managed to find some time to blog about Part 4 of my Perth Escapade! So for those of you who have no idea what on earth I'm talking about. On the 19th of October I went to Perth all by myself for a short holiday. Mostly to just take a breather from my stressful life and leave all my problems that I was facing in Perth. If you've not read the other entries, what are you waiting for? Click on 'Favourites' above my blog banner and read up on Perth Adventures Part 1 to 3 first! :)

So basically on Day 6, I finally moved from Sheryl's apartment at Dianella to St. Catherine's College(near the University of Western Australia). Basically St. Catherine's College offers rooms for students studying in UWA aka Dorm rooms. Luckily, I did my research and found out that St. Cats also offered guest apartments for visitors who visit Perth! The price per night was also way cheaper than living in a hotel. I save about half the cost! So anyway.. I left Sheryl's at around 1pm and took the bus straight down to UWA to meet up with Kristian and his friend Chester who were going to follow me check in the room and basically just show me around the school and stuff! Thank God I have friends there. I don't know what I would have done without them! :)

Luggage was insanely heavy. I had to carry 3 big and bulky bags :( And it sucks that I still had to go up the stairs on the bus. I had wanted to take the cab initially(my father kept asking me to), but then again, I didn't wanna waste $30 AUD dollars on freaking cab fare! Totally not worth it. See I feel like I became wiser with money. hahah!

When I was in the bus, an old lady who was sitting beside me suddenly talked to me. I was pretty shocked because if you were in Singapore, strangers don't usually talk to you right?
This cute little old Australian lady suddeny told me,"Don't you wish you were an Octopus?" and then she smiled and laughed. At first I didn't get it, but after some time, I got it. I wonder if YOU got it. Hahah. If it were a Singaporean aunty she'd probably go like "Aiyoh.. can carry anot?" HAHA.

And just wanna make a point, just because I compare Singapore alot of Perth it doesn't mean that there is no good in Singapore. I'm just comparing the facts! But of course, I still love Singapore! So Singapore fanatics, please calm down. haha.

So when I finally reached my stop I was sooo happy to see Kristian! I've not seen him in the longest time since his last visit to Singapore.
We then checked into my apartment to see the room.. and boy was I pleasantly shocked.

Kristian and Chester's mouth just dropped open because they expected my room to be way smaller. But hey I HAD SUCH AN AWESOME AND BIG ROOM ! :D

With the comfiest bed ever also!

The sofa I'd laze on and watch TV when I was feeling lazy at night. They have such great shows on TV! :) Simpsons, How I met your mother, Iron Chef, Gossip Girl, FRIENDS, The Big Bang Theory and whatnot.

The kitchen! Sorry aye, I'm not much of a photographer so I couldn't get a better angle. Wanted to show you guys the bathroom but nah..forget it la. It's just a normal bathroom with a shower place and a bathtub! :)

The bathtub was quite shiok though. I remember just turning on music and soaking myself in a warm bubble bath for about an hour on one of my nights there! :D I miss bubble baths!

Chester and Kristian!

So after putting all my stuff down, we decided to head to the University that I was interested in studying in -> UWA (University of Western Australia).

Outfit for the day! :)

I'm so gangsta for wearing such an outfit when it was pretty much freezing cold.

Chester and I :)

So... when I got to UWA... i was blown away. The school was ginormous and incredibly breathtaking. It really reminded me of Hogwarts for some reason! From the clocktower to the wonderful trees, the birds waddling freely... I loved everything about the school.

How incredible is this? It doesn't even look like a school!!

Saw this guy sleeping also. He had vomit all over him. I'm guessing this fella drank too much and then passed out. In school somemore. lol. champion.

Pretty ducks :D

Unfortunately I didn't take much photos of the school compound because we were on our way to meet up with Janel. It's amazing how most Singaporeans in Perth know other Singaporeans in Perth. They're all like one big family over there, which is another reason why I really wanna head to Perth! At least I know I won't be alone.

I'm still in the school compound by the way.

So many trees! BEAUTIFUL. :D

Oh and then Kristian and Chester showed me something really rare and unusual. Welll.. rare because it's not every day you get to see this within A SCHOOL.

.
.
.
.
.
.
.

Yup. A FREAKING PEACOCK! WHAT?!

They have a special compound for the peacocks. Kris even told me that the school hires someone to specially take care of the peacocks alone. Wow.. hahah

Aww..so cute! Just want to squeeze and hug it!

Still on the school's compound! IT'S HUGE. Kris told me it takes about 30 minutes or more to get from one end to another if you walk. Which is why he brings his skateboard to get around school, and he isn't the only skateboarder in the school. Swwweeeeeeet!

After that we met up with Janel and headed to the school's Tavern. Sorta like the place where students chill after school for some food or drinks. Pretty cool place! Totally forgot to take a picture of the inside -.- urgh. forgetful me.

Saw these 3 drunk students there. They were all laughing and talking super loudly. The guys even had lipstick marks on their cheeks(probably from the girl). O.O
Drunk at this time of the day? Serioussslyyy?

hahaha so cute!

Janel! :D so glad she came to join us ^^

chubby me! really gained weight when I was in Perth man. But thankfully I've lost the weight already! Phew :D

So after chilling at the Tavern for abit, Kris and Chester said that they wanted to bring us to some 'Secret beach'!

Walking towards the 'Secret beach'.

Saw dandelions!! SO PRETTY :D

Charlie's Angels? hahaha at Kris!

The place we were going to was really a 'secret', because it seemed like nobody was walking the trail we were walking. Couldn't spot a single soul out there other than us. So after much walking, we reached the uh.. SECRET BEACH. Or so they call it. hahah
.
.
.
.

TADA! kinda feels like you're on The Survivor right when you see that? Like you're on Redemption or Exile island or something. hahaha

Okay la I gotta hand it to the guys.. the place was really beautiful. You've gotta be there to know what I'm talking about! :)

After awhile, Chester told Janel and I of this treasure hunt. You find this box that's hidden, read the note on the inside and leave a 'treasure' behind and then hide it again for someone else to find it. The treasure hunt works on some GPS Position tracking system(whatever you call it).
.
.
.
.

AND... WE FOUND THE BOX! :D

Read the note on the inside :) Didn't take anything from the box there. There was a small notebook inside and a pencil. So I scribbled some of my thoughts down and placed it back in the box.

I didn't have anything on me besides my wallet and Louis's photo which he gave me for fun and so....

I LEFT LOUIS TAN IN PERTH. HAHAHAHAHA

See the photo? LOL. it was quite funny la. I couldn't stop myself from laughing. It was so funny leaving his photo in the box. Imagine what people will say when they find the box next. LOL.

"WHAT THIS CHINA MAN DOING IN THE BOX?".
HAHAHAHAHAH!! SORRY LOUIS.

"There's a snake in my boot". Heheh.

It really was an adventure with these 3. Definitely what I needed. :)

It was so windy over there too...

Ducks everywhere in Perth! hahah

Saw this really fascinating plant. No idea what it is but doesn't it just look amazing? So pretty ^^

After that we all headed back home. I was feeling pretty tired and I wanted to just relax in my new apartment and so I headed back earlier to unpack and watch teevo! :) Cup maggi is the bomb! But they're all really expensive in Perth la. :( Maybe around 3 bucks 4 bucks plus for one? And that's in Aussie dollars.

At night I met up with Julius and his friends to catch a movie at Warwick cinemas. Pretty cool aye? I almost felt like I lived there because watching movies at a cinema is not something you'd do on a holiday. I felt like a local there for a minute.

So Kevin picked me up from my apartment and we drove to the cinema! :)

Then again it was so cool seeing an entire building on its own that's a Cinema. I'm such a kid. I get fascinated at everything!

The movie we decided to watch was 'Paranormal Activity 3', which I found not scary at all. Ok fine maybe it was for a few scenes since Tony and Blonco kept laughing at me for covering my face with my packet of Lays chips. The boys kept laughing and laughing during the movie. There I was trying to watch a HORROR movie, but they were probably busy watching a COMEDY. hahaha funny guys...

Blonco and Tony!

Kevin, Ashley and his girlfriend :)

Group shot! Definitely miss these people already. :(
Julius was too camera shy as always so he chose to be the one behind the camera.

After the movie ended, Julius and I decided to catch a train home. It was already pretty late by then. Around 11ish? Luckily there were still some trains left.

Cool chairs! :) If there's one thing that Julius and I don't get about Perth's MRT stations is why they choose to use METAL CHAIRS instead of plastic or wooden chairs especially since it gets really cold during Winter. What are tryna do? Freeze everyone's asses off? haha. That one needs to be changed because I had so much trouble trying to sit down without getting 'shocked' from the rush of coldness.

And then it was HOME SWEET HOME! :)

Once again, another awesome day well spent! Wait up for my next entry. xoxo

Lots of Love,
Sofia Dendroff
