CHIC Girl Grand Finals - Supperclub, Odeon Towers ..............................................................
I have to say, I have never felt so much adrenaline rushing through my body, other than this night. This wonderful night. I really have to thank the CHIC Girl team for scouting me on Facebook, and I have to thank all the wonderful voters who voted for me by 'liking' my picture on Facebook. Because of you guys, I was given the opportunity to proceed to the Preliminary round. There, I met the team of CHIC Girl who screened me(pretty scary) from head to toe. Thankfully, they liked me, and within a few days, I was notified that I had made it into the Grand Finals, where I will be competing with other finalists for the GRAND PRIZE. What is the grand prize you may ask?
I can only tell you this much,
A SPONSORED TRIP TO EUROPE FOR 2!!!
The top 10 girls were sponsored a trip to Bali for a Photoshoot with Phantom Models Management.
I have to admit, then, I was only hoping to at least secure a position in the Top 10. I wanted nothing more than to visit Bali again.
But I realized something, the closer you get to achieving something, the more you want it. It's just like a race. When you know you're ALMOST gonna reach the finishing line, you SPRINT right? I guess that was how I felt when I made it into Top 10. I'll blog more as I go along with the pictures, so do scroll down! :)
Anyway, we were all told to assemble at Supperclub at 10am for rehearsals. Mel and I were the first to reach, other than this other contestant called Kris. :) We were there pretty early, and waited outside. Standing with our heels whilst lugging a HUGE bag(ok, that was me), that contained all our clothes, makeup etc, was pretty tiring. We were then informed that, Supperclub was only to be open at 12pm. Bah... so all of us(all the grand finalists), headed over to Macdonalds for breakfast!.
When we finally got in, we were led into this room where BEDS were actually sofas. The first thing Mel said was, "Ok.. this looks wrong". HAHA!
If there's one thing I was really happy about, it was that I got to share this experience with my bestfriend! :) Thank you Mel! :)

After settling down for a while, rehearsal soon commenced. We were led into another room to practice our catwalk! I'm really glad that Mimi(coach) and Thallyta(model) were there to help us with our walk. Thallyta was especially sweet, she coached me 1-on-1, because she told me that I was literally shaking(yes, THAT NERVOUS!).

So, after that, we were given till 6pm to get ready!
I would really like to thank this opportunity to thank KAK DIAH FOR HELPING ME WITH MY MAKEUP! :D Kak Diah, you are really soooo soooooo nice. Thank you for taking the time off your probably hectic schedule(afterall, you are the Owner of Studiofrost,StudioPerfect,Studioperfect Weddings), and whatnot. I really appreciate it alot! If it weren't for you, I probably would have done my makeup any-o-how. Thank you Abang Hidayat for also coming down! :D You helped Kak Diah carry her HUMONGOUS Make-up bag so yes, thank you! If it weren't for your help, she probably would have fainted while walking up the flight of stairs to Supperclub while carrying her makeup bag. HAHAH. Ok, jokes aside. heh :)
After makeup and hair was done, and all of us were fully dressed, we had another round of rehearsals! :)
TA-DAH! *transforms* I felt so grand here la, like walking down the Red Carpet siaa! :D
And off I go! woohoo, we had to catwalk to the judges, POSE, catwalk down 1 aisle, pose, catwalk back to judges, pose, and proceed to the next aisle, and catwalk down the stairs and disappear! K, hard to explain here, but yeah laaa, if you were there, you would know! x)
After rehearsal, we headed back to our room and waited for the CHIC Girl Team to tell us, that 'IT'S TIME'. During the wait, all of us took the opportunity to camwhore and snap loads of photos. Gotta admit though, that behind every picture taken, my tummy was filled with a million butterflies. I was nervous because my boyfriend would be watching me. Kak Diah and Abang Hidayat would be watching me. I didn't wanna disappoint!

Ann and I! :D We've been friends in the CYBERWORLD, for a few years now, and we finally got to meet each other during the Grooming Session! Hahah, cyberworld you ask? We used to play this game called, Habbo Hotel. HAHAHA
Oh and did I tell you who the Hosts for the night were??? No?

ALLAN WU!!!!!! I know for a fact, that the girls were going GA-GA and drooling over him. For one, CORDELIA. HAHAHAH!

The world is indeed small. Suzana Salleh(above) used to do my makeup for me during a photoshoot for Runwaybandits! HAHA, SMALL SMALL WORLD!

So after all the rehearsals, the grooming session, the WAIT, it was finally the MOMENT. CATWALK TIME BAYBEH!
I knew for a fact that THIS TIME, there is no room for mistakes. THIS TIME, I gotta give it my all, because we all only have ONE SHOT to impress, and only ONE SHOT to win this thing! I didn't manage to get photos of me walking during the actual event because well, I was on stage, so I couldn't use my camera. There are a few shots though, but they're fugly. HAHA, and the nice ones are in Kak Diah's camera which I've yet to collect!
KAK DIAHH, PICTURES LEYYYYYY! :D Once I get the pics, I'll add a 2nd post to this! :) So stay tuned for that!
I felt nervous because one of the judges was Miss Singapore Universe 2010. I forgot her name, but she's the one dressed in white in the above picture(On the left).
I was told that I walked really fast, but ah heck. HAHA, at least I got it over and done with! It was a magnificent experience. I felt like a superstar I admit because from every angle of the room(even my bad angle, HAHA), cameras were flashing!
After the catwalk, we were given 10 minutes to change into our next outfit! :) This time, it had to be a black dress! ;)

Well what happened for the next round you see was...
All of us were in the room waiting.. when suddenly 1 by 1, girls were being pulled out to go on stage. I was one of those girls!
I was pretty blur at first because I didn't know what was happening, I thought ALL OF US, would be going on stage together. But turns out, there was a change for the 2nd room. The TOP 10 GIRLS were to go on stage 1 by 1, to answer a question!
Everything happened so damn fast. Soooo fast that when I went on stage, I realized that i was not wearing my black gloves! HAHHA. What made me even more nervous was the fact that the person asking me the question was, ALLAN WU!!
The question he asked was, "What is your shopping strategy when there's a sale?".
When I think about it now, I have a 101 things to say, but guess when I'm put in the spotlight, when I'm surrounded by so many people, I tend to get nervous, and people could tell that my voice was shaking as I spoke! So I gave some rubbish answer. "Go on a weekday" I said.
Little did I know that, Valarie the girl before me, said the same thing(minus away all the nervous-ness). Guess my answer was good, but because I was just tooooo nervous I didn't make it into the TOP 2.
Quraisha and Valarie made it! :D And I'm so glad they did, because the both of them honestly deserved it!

My journey may have ended there. Goodbye Europe, but wait, although I had not won, I had won soooo many things.
Firstly, I've learnt the value of opportunities. That opportunities like these don't come by everyday and that whenever an opportunity is thrown at me, I should pucker up every fibre of my being, pucker up all my courage and GO FOR IT!
I've made soo many new friends! :D I've bonded more with my bestfriend(I'm pretty upset she isn't going to Bali with me :(, but whatever la, she's my bestfriend, we'll definitely travel the world together someday k? Promise! lurbechews) ! and Kak Diah and Abang Hidayat, in a way. Hahaha
Oh and...
I HAD WON A TRIP TO BALI nevertheless! :)
and lastly, I won myself,
The experience of a lifetime, and that itself can never be traded for anything else in this world.
And for that, I just wanna say, Thank you so much Chic Magazine for giving me this opportunity, AND,
