Perth Adventures - The Finale
.........................................................................

So I've finally come to the very last entry of my 'Perth Adventures'! :( It has been so fun sharing my experience with you guys and knowing that you guys really enjoyed my entries really makes me feel happy.Hahah! Spending 11 days on my own was seriously no joke. I had the intention of spending the days in Perth on my own actually, but now when I think about it, I don't think I ever did spend a single day in Perth on my own. I always had company of some sort and I couldn't have been more grateful and thankful for that.

Julius did warn me initially that if I were to come to Perth on my own, it'd be really hard getting around on my own because taxis are scarce in Perth unless you call for one AND... not forgetting the fact that it is really expensive to board a cab too! I did tell you guys right? That a short journey can simply amount to 30 Aussie dollars and above! Total madness. I guess that's why the cars in Perth are so cheap too!Almost everybody drives in Perth. Another reason why the trains and buses will never ever be as crowded as it is in Singapore. In Perth, I can ALWAYS find a seat. Sometimes the trains and buses are so empty it's actually pretty scary, especially in the night.

And the money you can make in Perth is quite a lot if you were to compare it to Singapore. Working in a regular Macdonalds can earn you up to 17 AUD per hour. I so wouldn't mind!!! But then again, who am I to compare right? Of course everything would be cheaper, the cost of living there is definitely a little higher than it is in Singapore, so I guess all in all, it still is pretty fair la.

So anyway let's move on with the rest of the blog entry! It's gonna be a LONG ONE!.
So on Day 10, I woke up bright and early in the morning, had my usual morning meal. I'm so thankful for the kitchen that I have in my apartment and the MICROWAVE. Totally saved my life on nights when I'm hungry but I'm too lazy or scared to go out on my own. Hahah.

Luckily, I totally stocked up on food when I was at the supermarket with Belle. Bought Curry maggi mee(for some strange reason, it tasted REALLY WEIRD and pretty horrible actually....), instant noodles(instant maggi & those chinese box noodles - damn cool lah, don't think Singapore has this), instant mac & cheese, EGGS, orange juice(the big bottle), mineral water, chips and other nonsense.

So yeah had my morning meal, read the Australian newspaper which I bought hahaha, and watched the teevo! Rang up Debbie, Reuben, Belle and Julius to ask if they wanted to go to King's Park! They all agreed and so we met up in the afternoon. Hehe.

Outside St Catherine's College where I stayed. Stayed in one of the guest apartments there. :)
Go see my previous Perth entries to see how the room looks like! :)

Spotted a Helicopter in the sky. You rarely ever get to see one in Singapore! I so wanted to go on the Helicopter tour but sadly I didn't. Boohoo. :( It's pretty cheap in Perth. It's about $300AUD for the tour which lasts for around 30 minutes or longer.

In Singapore, they also have such tours. But it's super duper expensive! Around $2k if I'm correct.... well, the last time I checked.

Reuben and Julius! :) The red car belongs to Reuben. He's a Singaporean too who studies in Perth! He actually bought his own car over there! So cool right? But it's nothing special lah over there. Cars are so cheap.... think he got it for like $3000AUD.

Waiting for Debbie and Christabel....

Camwhore abit first.. hehe

I love the blue sky! I miss seeing a sky that blue.

So after waiting for quite some time, Belle and Debbie rang us up and said they couldn't join us for King's Park since Debbie couldn't find her wallet and Belle was helping her! So off the 3 of us went to KING'S PARK! I was pretty excited to see what the big fuss was about, about that park since it is one of Perth's main tourist attractions!

When we reached, my jaw literally dropped open. I don't think I've ever seen a Park so beautiful in my life. And the park was super huge! I don't think I even managed to cover half of it!

Saw many pretty ducks! :)

Ducks: *waddle waddle* Damn this girl's so annoying with her camera *waddle waddle*

So in the park, we walked around for abit. They pretty much walked ahead of me the whole time because I was always far off behind stopping at everything I see trying to take a picture. Hahaha.

Using Sweep Panaroma to get a wide angle shot! So pretty isn't it? :)

No idea what kinda bird this is, but I totally freaked when I saw this bird! I was tip-toeing towards the bird because I didn't wanna scare it away. Just seconds after this shot was taken, the bird flew away! So happy I managed to get one shot at least! :D PINK BIRD SOMEMORE. WOOHOO!~

Stopped to camwhore. Hehehe. Thanks to Reuben for helping me snap these pictures ^^

The sun was beginning to set :(

And so we headed back to St Catherine's College to meet up with Debbie and Belle so that we could all head out for dinner together! :) Went back to my room to grab my coat since it usually gets really cold at night!

At the back of Reuben's car with Belle! I miss her :(

and Debbie too :(

Walked through a really interesting shop with a pretty cool interior.

Nice huh? :) the lights...

So we decided to dine at 'Little Caesar's Pizzeria' for dinner since they've been telling me how awesome the pizza is and so I decided to give it a try!

The 'Kitchen'.

There are so many Asians in Perth that I think if anyone goes there, you'd definitely not feel out of place. It actually feels really homely and nice in Perth. I mean don't get me wrong... I love Singapore too! But after living in Singapore for 20 years, I think anywhere else would seem better. Hahah. And if you're someone who doesn't really like the city life, Perth is a nice little quiet place you can go to. :) I sound like I'm tryna promote Perth aren't I? Well... it just really is that amazing...... to me at least. haha.

Can't remember what this is, but it was freaking good! LIKE REALLY GOOD. hahaha.

And awhile later Vivek soon joined us! :) whoops, blur shot.

So after a super awesome dinner, we walked along the street and stopped by a Yoghurt store!

Yummy yummy yoghurt! Don't be deceived by the photo, the cup is actually really huge!

So right after dinner, Reuben,Belle and Debbie headed back to sleep while Vivek, Julius and I stayed out to fully utilize the night since I was gonna be leaving the next day. :(

Went to the MRT Station and saw this super cool newspaper stand/machine. Just slot some coins in and you can help yourself to a paper. Singapore should have these machines! It's be so cool!

And so after about 30 minutes of waiting(yeah... trains in Perth take a long time to come at night. In the day the waiting time is not that long. Maybe like 15 minutes or so?)

When we got off the train, we were walking when suddenly we spotted a group of 'Australian guys' along the road who suddenly started singing 'Pretty woman... walking down the street... pretty woman..~'. And the 3 of us started bursting out laughing and Julius was telling me 'Eh, they're singing for you!'. HAHAH. It was so funny lah but really cute at the same time.

After that we sorta went to an Open Bar to chill out for abit since neither of us really knew what the plans were. Was practically freezing even though we were outdoors.
Julius was busy making calls tryna make plans with the rest of his friends to go clubbing.
And off we went after I had a change of clothes back in St Catherine's.

The club we headed to was called 'Library Nightclub'. A really nice place! The interior decor of the place resembled a library!

It was a pretty fun night I must say! But at the end of it all when morning came, It was really sad knowing that it was gonna be my final day in Perth.... :'(

Cabbed back to my apartment to crash. What a day~

DAY 11 - The Final Day
.....................................................

Woke up in the early morning to check out of St Catherines. Thank God I had friends staying in the dorms over there..and so I left my luggage in Bel's room since my flight was not till night time!

Afterwards I met up with Julius and we headed to Town to check out the 'PRADA' store. And then soon after, we headed back to Fremantle for last minute shopping! I didn't get a chance to see the Fremantle Market the last time because I went there too late(it closes at 5pm), and so this time, I wasn't gonna miss it because I didn't get the chance to do much gift shopping.

Boarded the train heading to Fremantle! :)

Went to the Sushi store to buy Sushi because I was starving! We agreed to split the Sushi in half(since it was quite huge and we were gonna have lunch afterwards anyway), but he just HAD to finish 3/4 of it. GRRRR..... Guys ah....

Quite alot of you asked me where I got my colourful wooden beaded bracelet from right... well... this was the shop I got it from! Can't remember the name of the shop because I was practically walking in and out of every shop along Fremantle trying to find a nice gift store! Bought some accessories here, and I even bought the hat that I wore in my 'Sunday Morning' video from this store too! :)

The very kind Indonesian lady! :D She couldn't speak English that well and so I tried my best conversing with her in Malay, and because of that, she gave me discount! WOOHOO~ Perks of being bilingual/multilingual!

After that we headed to the Marketplace! :)

It was pretty nice inside. It amazes me so much how almost every single place that I've been to in Perth just simply looks amazing. Even a marketplace. Can you believe it? Well... I'll just let the pictures do the talking. ^^

Saw this small boy playing the Violin. He looked so sad I kinda felt like crying just watching him play the Violin. :( But I have to say that he's pretty talented at it for someone his age.

Saw an authentic Thai food stall and decided to give the food a try! Since it was a VEGAN Food store, they don't sell any form of meat in case some of you don't know what the word VEGAN is.

Ordered the 'Vegan' version of Phad Thai! Strangely, it was pretty good! A Must Try!

Went into another area of the Marketplace called 'The Hall' where all the souvenirs and gifts are at! :)

Something like Singapore's 'Geylang', except this is the Australian version! Hahahaha.

We went outside for abit because we could hear loud music outside. Went out to see that there was a Street Act going on!

He's sorta like a Juggler lah! But a really scary one!

Imagine what would happen if this dropped on the man lying down?

Anyway he's like a really short video clip of the act! Wanted to video record more of it but then I was out of memory space! Too bad... :(

I have to say he was quite Lame though.... LOL. Funny how the video stopped at him saying 'Under... THE LEG'. HAHAHAHA. okay nvm.

So after that it was time to head for DINNER! :)

Met up with Vivek and then headed... shit lah... I keep forgetting the names of the places we went to. :( Sorry guys. I should have written the names of the places down.

Cool ah.... this restaurant ferments/makes their own Beer. See that big silver cylinder kinda tank? The beer is made/fermented in there! Cool huh?

MUSSELS! MY FAVOURITE. I don't know how on earth Mussels became one of my favourite foods. I guess it's cos Shafiq first got me hooked to it. I never liked oysters, mussels, cockles etc before... but thanks to Shafiq, I do now. Hahah, especially Mussels!~!!

We had Fish & Chips too which I forgot to take a picture of because of how forgetful I am. I always remember after the food's all gone. -.-

By this time it was probably around 4 plus or 5 plus in the afternoon. Julius had work in awhile and Vivek had something on too, so the both of them accompanied me for a little while longer to take more photos before we all made a leave.

Enjoying seeing the bright blue sky for the last time... :(

Love this shot I took. hehe

The water's s0 blue too! :) Kinda like a mixture of green and blue.

As you can seee..... my face really became chubby after being in Perth for just 11 days. HAHAHA. Scares me thinking just how much weight I could possibly gain if I were to study there for 3 years. But then again.... I really don't agree with that statement la. That I'd gain weight if I did study in Perth. I think you can always be the same size whereever it isyou go. It's just knowing how much you should eat and when you should stop. All about self-discipline. If you were in America and if the serving is double of what you'd normally eat, then eat what you normally eat in Singapore. You don't have to eat the American serving size.

Always think of it this way.... will it be worth it gaining weight just for the sake of not wanting to waste food? The effort you'd have to put in to shed those extra kilos will be torturous(unless you're someone who exercises very frequently... then by all means.. EAT TILL YOU DROP. Hahah)
But if you're someone who doesn't like to exercise but want to be able to lose weight... Eat till you're not hungry anymore but don't eat till you're bloated. That's a way to lose weight! Stop eating once the hunger goes away, even if it means you not finishing your food. My friends in school always ask me why is it I usually never ever finish my food. If I order a bowl of noodles,I'd eat only half. That's because the serving's so much, I just eat enough to keep the hunger away! So girls, here's a tip on how to lose weight! :)

BUT OF COURSE WHEN I WAS IN PERTH... I couldn't be bothered lah... afterall, it's not everyday you get to be in a foreign country right... so I just ate only! eat and eat and eat and eat and eat. hahaha.

Stopped by Cicerello's for the last time to take-away a box of Fish n Chips. Truly delicious! I just had to have it one last time before I left for Perth.

After that, Vivek dropped Julius off at his work place, he dropped me off at St Catherine's and then he went off! Went back to Belle's room and chilled there with Debbie and Belle till around 7-ish pm. Everyone was so busy the day I was leaving that none of them could drop me off at the airport :( BUT THANKFULLY(I think i've use thankfully more than 10 times in this blog entry... hahah), but yeah... thankfully, Kevin and Ashley offered to drive me to the airport because otherwise the taxi fare would have been really expensive. Probably 70 bucks or so?

Kevin and Ashley.

Sigh.... when the gates opened... it was time to board the plane. :( Goodbye Perth....

As I was sitting in the plane, so many thoughts and memories went through my head. Remembering me sitting in the plane for the first time... remembering the excitement I felt when I first touched down in Perth. Everything.... and right there and then, I knew I'd miss Perth a whole lot. And I did. Up till this very day, I miss it so much. There, it feels so much more like home for some strange reason. If you're a patriotic Singaporean, don't start dissing me eh... afterall, everyone feels differently and is entitled to different views and opinions. This is just how I feel.

The whole 11 days that I spent there was definitely an experience I'd always remember. Every day was full of fun and adventure. Even doing simple things like heading to Gloria's place to watch 'X-Men First Class' with the rest of the boys ; Tim,Ashley,Kevin,Brian,Joshua,Julius and Gloria was so much fun. But for the most part of that movie night, I remember dozing off on the couch. HAHA. It was really fun lah. Definitely miss all the friends I made over there too! If anything, I'd definitely want to go back to Perth somewhere this year just for a visit. I don't know if I'll even be studying in Australia. Sigh... I mean... one can always just talk and dream right? But whether it becomes a reality... I don't know for sure yet.... But I sure hope it does.... It all depends on my parents. :(

So when the plane finally landed in Singapore... I knew that it was time to face 'Reality' again. Walked outof the plane with a heavy heart and a frown upon my face.... sigh... :(

At the budget terminal... after picking up my luggage from the baggage area, I placed my bags onto one of those push-cart trolleys and headed out.

As I was walking out... I could see my mum and dad from a distance. My dad was waving frantically at me with a huge smile painted on his face! Immediately, I smiled and I guess... right there and then I knew I was Home. :) No matter where I am in the world, it'd never be home without my family because 'Home is where Family is'.
