DID YOU KNOW?
The joyous Mid-Autumn Festival, the third and last festival for the living, was celebrated on the fifteenth day of the eighth moon, around the time of the autumn equinox. Many referred to it simply as the "Fifteenth of the Eighth Moon". In the Western calendar, the day of the festival usually occurred sometime between the second week of September and the second week ofOctober.
The round moon cakes, measuring about three inches in diameter and one and a half inches in thickness, resembled Western fruitcakes in taste and consistency. These cakes were made with melon seeds, lotus seeds, almonds bean paste and orange peels. A golden yolk from an egg was placed at the center of each cake, and the golden brown crust was decorated with symbols of the festival.
he Mid-Autumn Festival is also called the Harvest Festival. The festival is a time for family reunions to appreciate the moon ( ½à¤ë , shangyue) and eat moon cakes together.
You guys must probably be wondering, why on earth am I talking about mooncakes and the Mid-autumn festival right? Not only is it just around the corner, I'm actually SELLING Mooncakes! :D
I'm sure most of you have tried mooncakes before right? If you haven't, you honestly have NO IDEA what you're missing out on! I know that I always look forward to the Mid-Autumn Festival even though I don't celebrate it. Why? One word. MOONCAKES!
I especially love the Lotus Mooncakes!! :D If they have it in Sesame, ALL THE BETTER! My dad's a fan of the mooncakes with egg yolks! In fact, my whole family loves mooncakes! I know it can be pretty pricey, which is why I'm actually HELPING YOU GUYS SAVE MONEY, if you do purchase from me, because ALL OF THE ITEMS BELOW are at a DISCOUNTED PRICEalso known as 'NYP'S selling price'. To convince you potential buyers of the amount of $ that you get to save, the ORIGINAL price is also mentioned below.
MOREOVER, IT'S ALL HALAL-CERTIFIED, I guarantee you. :) It's really hard to find Halal mooncakes these days because alot of shops use lard in them. Luckily, my school was nice enough to also provide mooncakes that are Halal-certified, so you don't have to worry alright (To Muslims out there!)

Pretty aren't they? :D I've always wanted to try one of these above, but never did. I'll probably be getting some for myself too!
