It amazes me how inconsiderate Singaporeans can be really. The fact that they push their way through buses and trains, not giving a damn about how others around them feel really disgusts me. I know how it feels like, because well.. I'm a fellow Public Transport user myself and I hate how people still somehow FORCE themselves into trains and buses even though it is already soo damn packed. I hate it sooo much that I, who once loved taking the MRT now absolutely dread it. In the past it was different, there were so many seats everywhere and the trains were always so empty and spacious. Now, practically every minute of the day, every train is always packed with so many people. Sometimes, they practically run through the door when it's about to close(even though the train is SARDINE-PACKED) without giving a care in the world if they injure someone during the process.
What if there were a child on board amongst the crowd? An old man? A pregnant lady? Wheelchair bound person? Injured person? The list could go on. I mean... what's soooo terrible about waiting a couple of minutes for the next train or bus to come? Ok, if it's a bus, maybe it's understandable, since a bus comes every 15 minutes, and that could either define a person being Late or Just on time for school or work, for example. But a train?
We are soo blessed that a train in Singapore, only takes probably, at most5-7 minutes to arrive. The kiasu-ness of Singaporeans doesn't just apply to trains and buses. It even happens in lifts! I mean, I understand that Singapore is a city, and life in the city tends to be kinda hectic and STRESSFUL and well... fast, but it's become sooo bad to the point where I don't even feel like the word 'Kiasu' is a good word to describe Singaporeans. Don't you find it weird that Singaporeans most of the time , whenever asked to describe their people, very proudly always mention the word, "Kiasu". Is it really a good thing? Hm....
WHAT DO YOUU THINK?
Also, I stumbled upon this video about this lady hurling tons of vulgarities at God knows who(I don't even know who she's talking to).
TAKE A LOOK!
Crazy or what?
You tell me! If I ever encounter this lady, the first thing I'd do?
I'D RUN FOR MY LIFE.
Honestly, if any of you ever encounter a person like this in future, please(for your safety), don't try and be the hero and start hurling back vulgarities or argue back. The people in the video are smart in a way by not retaliating. By doing so, you'd only make a crazy person like her, EVEN CRAZIER. And who knows, this time she's carrying 2 water bottles, next time, it could be knives!
Think about your safety. I saw alot of comments from people regarding this video on Youtube, saying stuff like, they'd just scold her back or punch her or beat her up yadayada. But doesn't that make them as crazy as she is? Be civilized. Act cool!
Unless, she lays a finger on you first la, then that's a different story.
SLAP THE BITCH! ...............................
EDIT:Ok, I just found out that the lady in the video above is suffering . from a disease called Schizophrenia. Schizophreniais a severe mental disorder characterized by delusions, hallucinations, incoherence and physical agitation; it is classified as a "thought" disorder while Bipolar Disorder is a "mood" disorder.
Ok, I admit when I wrote the entry above, I did NOT know about her condition. I just thought it was some really angry lady PMS-ing and venting her anger out on everyone. I apologize if anyone got offended! :) Thank you. A fellow blog reader sent me the link to an article regarding the condition of this woman. Ok, I feel bad now.
