Fashion These Days
.......................................................

So quite some time ago I was checking out Lookbook.nu and stumbled upon these photos which kinda intrigued me.I've always admired women, girls, boys and men with a good sense of fashion. I believe that dressing up is not only to please the opposite gender but it's also sorta like self therapy for the soul. Why do I say that? At the end of the day, if you look good... chances are you'll feel good too. Everyone wants to feel confident right? Everyone wants to feel sexy and to look fashionable. I'm pretty sure nobody wants to be known as "the girl/guy with no sense of fashion at all". But then again, fashion... the word today... is such a vague word. Fashion has evolved so much over the years. Styles and trends have changed so much. I mean c'mon, how is it that having an afrohead was even looked upon as stylish or fashionable back then? But then again, hey... that's just my personal opinion. To someone else, having an afrohead might just be the coolest thing in the world. I guess that's what fashion is these days. Pleasing yourself. If you like what you wear, then go ahead. Just like Lady Gaga. If wearing meat all over her body makes her happy, then I'm pretty sure she's not going to let anyone else tell her any differently.

As for me, I've always been the 'safe dresser' you could say. Those girls you see on the street donning a winter fur coat with leggings, sunglasses and platform heels...yeah... that'd never be me. Hahaha. But I do have to say, that I admire the courage that these girls have to stand out and look different from the norm in Singapore. Not just girls of course. There are guys too who go the extra mile to stand out.. to look good and to be unique because in a place such as Singapore, most people generally follow fashion trends(if it's something I realize). Like there was a point in time where the "Little Miss (blabla)" shirts were so in fashion that you'd never miss seeing one of those shirts on the streets. There was also a time when "Military jackets" were the in thing. Or how about the time when coloured skinny jeans was deemed to be oh so fashionable? Not saying it isn't, but it sure definitely stands out. Haha.

Or the time when Crocs were all the rage? And let's not forget this one. The time when soooo many girls were using leggings as pants. Hey, I'll be brave enough to admit that I was one of those people. Hahah.
Whatever it is, in a place like Singapore, it's really hard to stand out because most of us are 'safe dressers'.

Look at these two pictures below. I was on Lookbook.nu like I mentioned earlier and stumbled upon these two photos that I just could not keep my eyes off. It was strange that these two photos had soooo many likes.

I guess it's because you don't see something like this everyday but doesn't it just baffle you?
I don't know why but he sorta looks like a Chinese emperor from the Tang Dynasty or something.

Or how about this one below...

This girl is honestly one confused fella. First she wants to be all gothic with all the spikes, and then she tries to be a rocker with all the studs. And then she figured she'd like to be girly and she places a bush on her head. Oh wait excuse me, I mean some flowers on her head. And then she thought... nah.....Indians are way cooler and so she stuck a Pottu on her forehead.

Talk about confusing.

But I'm not going to diss their sense of fashion. Perhaps dressing like that makes them feel good about themselves? I don't know. I was just speaking my mind and if you do take offense in that, then I'm sorry.

Now back to the 'safer fashion' trends. I saw these on Lookbook and fell in love with it. I feel sooo inspired. Hehe. Have a look at these photos.

I NEED THOSE JEANS!!!! Where can I find these? *.*

Always admired girls who can pull off the knee high or thigh high socks look!

So Lady Gaga. Wait is that Lady Gaga?Ok wait no.

I LOVE DRESSES LIKE THESE. hehe. It sucks that I'm slightly tan. So pastels don't look as good on me as it does on those who are really fair. :(

SO PRETTYYY.

THAT T-SHIRT. I NEED. I WANT.

This looks different but still fashionably different. I wouldn't mind walking around Orchard Road wearing this. Hahah.

So simple yet chic.

OMG. I LOVE THIS LOOK. I am going to re-create this look one day. It's soooo TAYLOR MOMSEN. And Taylor Momsen is my fashion inspiration. :)

THESE TIGHTS. I NEED. WHERE CAN I FIND THIS?

So yeah... just wanted to share with you guys my thoughts about fashion these days.

And just like most of my blog entries, there's always something to learn from it. Hahah. My point is....like always, just do whatever makes you happy. And if dressing up like Morticia from the Addams Family makes you feel like a Queen... then by all means. :)
There's no end to fashion, neither is there a defining factor. You are what you wear. So just go all and out go crayyy~

Till the next blog entry, xoxo. ^^

Lots of Love,
