BLOG CONTEST WINNERS! ..............................................................
Contest Question: What does Beauty mean to you?
So after reading many many many entries, I have finally decided the 3 winners for this contest. I have to admit, choosing winners was definitely a challenge because there were just soooo many good entries and sooo many perfect answers. Wow, you guys really sure know what Beauty means. But in case you guys were wondering what were some of the criterias I looked for in the answers. Here they are.
Sincerity. You have to say it like you mean it.
Originality. I'm pretty sure some of you googled and pasted. haahah, cos some entries were similar(like very similar).
Meaningful. What you write has to somewhat convey a message to others out there, should you be picked the winner.
Influential
Good English (this is definitely important for me). You don't have to use Bombastic words, but please phrase your sentences properly. Good thing is, there wasn't really any problem with this criteria because everyone wrote really well! :)
Before I announce the winner, I just wanna thank everyone for taking their time to participate in the contest. It means alot to me that people actually do bother about what I have to say, or bother about the events/contests I organize. It'd be so sad had I not received any entries, but I started receiving entries almost as soon as I posted the contest up! (Which is really amazing!). You guys sure are FAST! :D
So, to those who didn't win, don't be disheartened. It doesn't mean I didn't like your entry. I just HAVE to pick the best 3 ya know. I had near 50 entries. And imagine this, most of em, were essay long replies. hahah! You guys really impress me!
And without further ado, HERE ARE THE WINNERS! :D *drum rolls*
3RD PRIZE - Sample Benetint and Shiseido Mask

NUR FARHANA!!! :D
I really liked her entry because it was short and sweet and it was very precise and straight to the point. I can tell that she really meant every word she said, and that she was really sincere about it. So, Farhana, CONGRATULATIONS! :D

Beauty means loving yourself the way you are. Some people have this perception that beauty are measured by the numbers they see on the weighing machine or even by the size of their jeans.bt really, beauty is just walking with a smile on your face, being happy and appreciating what God has given you..believing that there's nothing about YOURSELF that needs to be change.Beauty is still loving yourself no matter how many pimple scars there are on your face OR no matter how huge your thighs are..Beauty is what you have inside.because its only when you are beautiful inside does it show on the outside..However,beauty doesn't only mean that to me.Beauty are also things like the sunset that gives peace to people's mind or evn strayed cats that protect their mates frm danger.even a sincere poem you wrote for your mother is beauty.. But the most beautiful beauty? the most beautiful beauty has got to be a person who makes the people ard him/her feel beautiful ..
I absolutely adore the way she wrote her answer. It definitely made a lot of sense, and I just love how I can simply nod my head with every single thing she says, in AGREEMENT. :) Congratulations Sarah! :)
Here's what Sarah wrote: ..................................................................................
It's a cliched thing to say, but I honestly believe that beauty is all about being confident about who you are in your own skin and not conforming to society's pressures. It's about accepting your flaws and believing that to someone, somewhere out there, you're beautiful. Whether you're a size zero or a size twelve, you will be beautiful if you wear the right clothes, accent the right strengths and carry yourself with confidence by defining your own style and rocking it! Succumbing to anorexia and bulimia just because of what the media shows you is definitely not beautiful. Loving yourself for who you are, and being happy with what God and your parent's genes gave you. But beauty is not just about the physical. A person who can make the people around them laugh are the most beautiful people. Those that can inspire others through their words and actions are just as beautiful.
In the end, someone who can face the harshest odds, be it from their physical flaws or the hardships of life and still continue to smile and make others happy are beautiful as they truly exemplify the meaning of being human. And in itself, humanity is a beautiful thing.
And FINALLY, THE GRAND PRIZE WINNER OF THIS CONTEST who will walk away with Benetint worth $65 and a Shiseido Mask is.... . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

As the old saying goes, Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder.
You may feel you’re nowhere near perfection, have got a close to a thousand flaws that you loathe and not have a single bit of yourself that you’re proud of, but all of these aren’t the main things I look at when I truly befriend someone. Yes, frankly in reality, being beautiful does set people at a higher advantage as compared to the rest but to me, Beauty equates to Confidence and respect of oneself and the others. Without that, even the prettiest of all may be compared to nil.
A lot of women wants to look and feel beautiful inside out. I am no exception. I do wear light make-up to school every day to cover up my flaws. In a way, having them on makes me feel secured. I could not do a day without applying my concealer, eye liner and a mild bit of the blusher. At least it helps to enhance a little of my features which makes me feel better about myself. To be truthful, even I can’t get use to myself without any light makeup now. I would think myself to be weird looking. This is what makeup has done to me. I’m not complaining. In fact, I am actually thankful for a friend whom gave me exposure to different makeup that might suit me.
I was considered to be an introvert during my secondary school days, but now, my confidence level has boosted way higher than what my friends could imagine and they certainly like the new change in me. That particular friend brought me out of my own enclosed area. She taught me how to be confident because at the end of the day, it brings out the best in you. Smile more and feel good about yourself. When that happens, you would naturally attract friends and feel welcomed. So to me, Beauty is confidence. Beauty is friendship. Beauty is respect. Without my friend and the knowledge she taught me, I may still be how I used to be in Secondary School. People may despise those who put on real heavy makeup. But to them, if it makes them feel better, they absolutely have got nothing to care what others think about them. How you feel about yourself beats anything. Believe that you’re at your best and everything would be fine as it is.
I happen to know that she has been eyeing on Benetint for quite some time now but has always failed to get it due to some reasons. I would really wish to win this and present this to her as a thank you gift, for being here with me through all these time. I benefitted from having a friend like her and I hope one day, I can be of help to some girls who have low confidence too.Thank you!
