Model For Hope Fashion Show .....................................................................
Okay this blog post is pretty belated since the Model for Hope event happened around 2 or 3 months back! Anyway Model for Hope was basically a runway event that I modeled for.
"Model For Hope 2011 is a student-led charity event for a student audience, aimed at raising awareness of the plight of victims of human trafficking and sexual slavery. Organised by youths from ACJC, ACS(I) and NUS, the event aims to juxtapose — through the medium of fashion — the comfortable lifestyles of Singaporean youth, with the deprivation, degradation and... suffering of modern-day victims of sexual slavery".
It was pretty exciting to go for the event not knowing the kind of makeup and hair would be done for us. Everytime I do runway shows/events/photoshoots, I always feel nervous about the hair and makeup. An excited kind of nervous because well... curiosity kills, or so they say. haha :D
The event was to be held at Zouk. :) The second time I've done a runway event there! So I woke up early in the morning, wore my contact lenses and wore my degree-less geek glasses and headed out without makeup. Okay why I wore the geek glasses? To hide my dark circles of course. I did dab on a little but then again, I was told to come makeupless and so I didn't wanna go there with tons of makeup on my face since makeup was already going to be done there!
sleepy face.
Got there just in time for rehearsals and met most of the models there for the first time. Saw a few familiar faces like Eunice, Jayley etc..
Oh and I also made new friends of course! :)
Anyway little did I know, when I went for rehearsals, I felt very retarded because most of the girls came with makeup on, and there I was makeupless and with my geeky specs. haha. damn. next time if I'm told to come makeupless, I'll just dab on tons of makeup. :P ok kidding.
After rehearsing the walk, it was finally time for hair and makeup! All of us were really excited as to what makeup would be done for us! Hair and makeup would also be done for the male models.
Well... um... yeah...
Some of the girls got this makeup. haha, i know it may look a little strange but i guess it kinda suited the purpose of the entire runway show. Model for hope against human trafficking and sex slavery. And damn, some girls actually managed to pull such a look off! :) They ended up looking pretty high fashion.
Some of the girls got this makeup. uh..me included. hahah Now.. this makeup, I totally don't get...but from what I heard from the makeup artiste(got the same makeup artiste who styled me for my 'REV' Magazine Cover girl shoot, yay!) it was a look that was taken from a magazine(the style of the makeup). ooooo cooool, aha
Eunice and I. :) She was pretty unhappy about her makeup, hence her face. haha.
Oh and don't ask me about the hair. All the girls had the same hairstyle. The little bun on top.
Even models need to eat. Nasi briyani somemore. yums!
So do you all wanna see how I ended up loooking? hahaha
. . . . . . . . .
TADAH!! LOL.
Backstage.
After that it was time to change into our outfit.
I feel so short beside Petrina man! She's super tall! So guys, don't blame me when I complain about my height and say I'm short. Petrina is an example of exactly the reason why I feel short. Hahaha.
And the show begins...
Didn't manage to use my camera to snap any of the shows from the show itself. So i stole these pictures from different cameras. haha
I look so fierce uh.
So yeah I guess it was a good show! The turnout was good as well and it was really nice having my friends there to come support me. :)
Here are some aftershow pictures!
Sophie Willocq :)
Oh and my younger brother was there too man. Super surprised to see him there! hahah
Hehe thanks guys for coming down! Really appreciate it! Love you all. xoxo.
So that sums up this entry! The next entry should be coming up soooon! So stay updated with my blog, twitter, facebook!
