Happy Birthday Mummy!
...................................................................

So it was my Mum's birthday on the 7th of November(7/11). And this time round, my dad wanted her birthday to be spent in a grander way than the usual birthday celebrations we usually have at home for most birthdays with the family. :) So, for a change, we headed to The Grand Hyatt Hotel for a sumptious buffet dinner!

But before that, we had the usual cake cutting tradition at home. My dad was being his usual goofy self. He actually played some lame birthday song on his laptop, and was carrying it out from the room to the dining area as we sang the birthday song! Hahaha! (Try to imagine it)

Simple cake but really delicious! :D
I'm a cake person! If there's one thing about birthdays I really love and look forward to, it's always the birthday cakes! ;)

My mum and I! :) Can you believe they met in the ARMY? Yeah, my mum was a tough chick know. Don't play play~ even though she has a tudung know~ hahahah

Maybe one day I might end up following her foot steps, and sign on with the army if I don't get into University? LOL. kay, i doubt that'll happen though.

Cake feeding!

As you can see, I've definitely put on a little bit of weight since I came back from Perth. I blame the good food I had almost every day, and Julius for bringing me to those places. :(

I have to slim down ready! and start exercising. LOL. like that'll happen in a million years. Just had Pastamania yo! Woohoo, life's goood, when there's foood ;)

Awwww :D mummy and daddy!

So Omar wasn't able to join us for the cake cutting but he joined us later on for dinner at The Grand Hyatt. :)

Younger brother and Mum.My younger bro not that photogenic lah, but I swear he looks wayyyyyyy better in person! hahaha! kay, why am I tryna promote my brother?

I got LION'S HAIR LAH GUYS. LOL. bad hair day much?

So yeah this was where we dined! :) The Straitskitchen! It's HALAL certified! Don't worry. :P

Heheh loving my Christian Dior bag ! :D

TIME TO EAT!! :)

The Straitskitchen offers an array of local delights. From Chinese to Indian cuisine, to Malay and whatnot. If you like your local food, then this is the perfect buffet to go to! :)

I just wish they had Western and more seafood. Was really hoping to have some lobsters, oysters, mussels etc.. :(

So I didn't really take pictures of everything I ate, but I did take a few. I just know I left the place being unable to breathe from all the food I ate(Thank goodness, I didn't have anything else throughout the day.. well except the cake).

TIP #01: If you go to a buffet, always go on AN EMPTY STOMACH.

TIP from my Dad: If you want to make your money's worth, don't eat for a few days. LOL. Dendroff humour. HA. HA.

Had this next! :)

Oooooo.... crayfish! it was super yummy! :)

The ambience of the place was really nice. I like the dim lights and the way the whole restaurant was designed. Gives me a very local Kampung feel for some reason.

After that, my dad and I had some Chinese Herbal soup! Looks a little gross right? But it was REAL GOOD! The soup base was probably made from chicken. Black chicken I'm guessing.

Have you guys ever seen BLACK CHICKEN? And ahah, i literally mean BLACK CHICKEN. I never knew sucha chicken existed to be honest. Take a look at this..

No colouring or whatsoever, the flesh of the chicken is really black/greyish looking. Looks gross right? I was feeling skeptical in wanting to try it because of how nasty it looked, but when I did try, I was pleasantly shocked. It tastes just like any normal boiled chicken. Not a slight difference in the taste at all. Hahah well.. waddya know?

Can't believe I had so much room in my tummy for so much food! I had a Hot & Sour soup as well which was really tasty till I ruined it by adding sambal. Bad bad move. :( It just ruins the whole taste of the soup, and it rids the soup of its sourish taste.

CARROT CAKE! :D White carrot cake somemore. My favouriteee (Y)!

And some dessert!

So yeah, there was alot more that I ate. I was just too busy enjoying the food to take pictures of every single thing. Egg tarts, rice pudding, ondeh ondeh and many many more....

Overall it was a pleasant dining experience. I think my Mum enjoyed the food more than I did though. Local food is not really something I can have 4 or 5 times in a row. I felt pretty sick after dinner. Hahah.

So anyway, to my dearest Mummy,

Thank you for bringing me into this world close to 20 years ago. No matter how much we bicker and fight, you know I only have one mother in this world. And although I can say the nastiest things to you sometimes out of anger, you should know that I don't mean it.

You've never failed as a mother. Ever. And I appreciate everything that you've done for me and for the rest of the family! I love you Mummy!
Happy Birthday :D

Here's wishing Happy Birthday to all the 7/11's who read my blog as well! Happy Birthday to you guys! :D

Lots of Love,
