Well well welll.... look at how fast 2011 went by. It's 2012 already can you believe it? 12 years ago everyone was raving about the Millenium, the year 2000. So much so, Disney even produced the film "Fantasia 2000" many years ago if you guys can even recall.
Just a few weeks ago I celebrated my 20th birthday. Freaking 20th birthday.... I can't believe this year I'm officially 21. The legal age to do whatever you want in Singapore. When December 16th arrives this year, I'm no longer gonna be a kid. I'm no longer gonna be let off easily for making mistakes since I won't be able to use the excuse 'I'm just a kid!' anymore. :(
This is the year I finally become an adult. I'm totally dreading this birthday already. :( Sigh... it's bad enough as it is being called old by my nieces and nephews! Heck, I used to be their age too! I used to have the energy to run around the playground playing hide and seek, playing Ice and water, playing 3 Blind Mice, the crocodile game and so many more.

If I had a wish, It'd be to turn back the clock and to let me re-live my childhood days one last time. You know they always say you should never stop yourself from doing things that you want to do because the worst feeling in the world is regret and knowing that it's too late to make amends. And therefore, my 2012 resolution would be to embrace every opportunity I get this year. Last year I let a few opportunities that could have been life-changing(who knows?) slip by me.

This year, I'm hoping to accomplish so much more and to hopefully get somewhere in the Media industry. If not, I'm really hoping to either do a degree at UWA or start my flying career. I know what some people say about Air Stewardesses.... it's just a high class waitressing job with a high salary. Well.. waitress or not. Think about it this way. At the end of the day, what do we work for? We work for Money. We work to get paid. And if being a high class waitress makes me happy and if I can get paid a good amount of money, I say.. WHY THE HELL NOT?! Moreover traveling the world is something I doubt I can ever accomplish in a single lifetime.

It doesn't matter the title of your job. You could be a road sweeper and still be happy because it could be something you enjoy doing! :) I don't know why I'm talking about this, but yeah.. you get my point right?Anyway, the future is still uncertain. In fact I've still no idea what I want to do and I'm gonna be done with school in less than 2 months. Oh My God. I really need to sit down one day and start thinking about my future.

My next resolution for 2012 would be to be a better person. I'm not saying I'm a bad person, but I think I can be better? For example, I need to learn to be more patient, more understanding, less stubborn(I'm very strong-headed. Hahah), more giving and more loving. I need to cherish the friends I have as well and try my best to spend as much time as I can with them because life isn't complete without friends! :) And those who have stuck by me, I'm really grateful and thankful. 2011 was definitely a roller coaster ride. Went through a rough patch with my boyfriend(but I'm glad we're still together despite it all), lost some friends along the way unfortunately but grew even closer to other friends(Falila,Namira,Shaheena,Qurratul,Akhbar ...)
I won't say I'm unhappy with what I have now despite having lost some friends along the way. In fact I'm thankful for everything that has happened in my life. You know they always say, life's too short to regret. There's always a reason for things to happen. If something unfortunate happens, learn from it and move on. Life still goes on doesn't it? No point drowning yourself in sorrow.

And lastly, I hope to lose weight. HAHA. Cliche and typical resolution for every girl I bet. But yeah, I really need to get my ass off this chair and start exercising. I think it's about time I enroll myself in some classes. I was thinking dancing or roller-derby! Hahah. anyone have some suggestions what sorta sport I could do that is fun? Lemme know!~ Thank you :D

And now.... Let's continue with my blog entry~

So slightly before Christmas last year, I met up with my Secondary school mates Zara and Sondra for dinner and a small catch up session! I wanted to take them to Hog's Breath Cafe at CHIJMES because I found out that they had an outlet in Singapore and I was super stoked!

Sondra :)

Zara :)

'Friends' since Primary 1! :) I remember she used to hate me in Primary school though because I was a bully back then. Maybe it's karma I got bullied before too, since I used to bully Sondra for being very small. LOL. We only became real friends in Secondary 3! hehe who knew she'd ended up being one of my bestest friends? :) Life sure is full of surprises...

Okay... I swear this pullover makes me fat. hahaha

I'd really recommend CHIJMES to all the couples who're looking for a romantic place for a date! The lights there were incredibly beautiful and they had lots of cafes, restaurants and bars around the area! A perfect place to chill and have good food! :)

A second location I think is really good to bring a girl out on a date would be 'Dempsey Hill' in Singapore! Lots of nice restaurants there and the place looks really nice too! Doesn't really feel like Singapore when you're there.

m

I'm in absolute awe of this building! sooooo prettyyy

Had some yoghurt after dinner with the girls and then we left! Was a brief catch up session but nevertheless I'm still grateful to have had the chance to be able to have dinner with them considering how busy all of us usually are! Sadly, Amanda who was supposed to join us that night was feeling sick. Owellll, can't wait to meet them again! whenever time permits.

::OCS Social Night::

Yesterday, 6th January 2011 was my boyfriend's Officer Cadet School Social Night. A little like Prom but less formal! :) It was held in an outdoor area outside the Discovery Centre. I know right! That's sooo far. All the way in Jurong!

So the journey starts....

I remember stressing so much about what to wear for the event. I wanted to look classy and elegant but yet not toooo elegant or classy or else it'd be too over the top if you know what I mean. But in the end, I think I still went OTT. HAHAH. OH WELL. THAT'S SOFIA DENDROFF FOR YA :P

I found this amazing gold and black tube dress that was so gorgeous I had to get my hands on it. I then matched my outfit with Gold accessories and my black ALDO heels. :)

Oh and I cut and dyed my hair too which was a terrible idea to do 2 days before the event because my hair ended up being too smooth and flat which I don't like.

As a result, I think I overloaded a little too much on the hairspray. Major booboo.

My handsome boyfriend :)

Registration booth. :)

We then helped ourselves to a wine glass and sipped on Lemon Barley/Lychee juice.

The location was beautiful but I still can't help but think that it would have been so much nicer if it was in a hotel. Then again... that's not my place to say/comment. I'm just really glad that my boyfriend asked me along to be his companion for the night. Everyone was told to bring a female companion you see. :)

After which, we were all led to the dinner area.

My irritating face which my bf hates me doing so much. hahahah #annoying

How do you find this hair colour? I personally feel I look better with darker hair. Some feedback would be nice and appreciated. Thank you ^^

Dinner time! It's so funny how I was trying to be all elegant and dainty all night and yet when it came to dinner, my boyfrind and I were the first few to 'run' to the buffet table. LOL.

Blah... didn's focus properly. :(

What I ate! :D Pineapple rice with cereal fish, prawns, chicken, vege, sotong youtiao ....

So after dinner it was time for the 'award' ceremony. This award ceremony was merely just for laughs I guess since they had awards like 'The Most Blur', 'Most Shag' and so on..

And for the award 'The Best Joker'... guess who got it?

.
.
.
.
.
.

Yup SHAFIQ ROSLAN. HAHAHA. His prize was a 'Lipstick' which they later applied for him on stage in front of everyone. My poor baby was so embarrassed he didn't even walk through the crowd when he got off the stage. Hahaha. see la baby, joke somemore, disturb people somemore... hahah!

Shafiq and his buddy, Jonathan. :)

Removing the lipstick.

HAHAH. HIS FACE!

After that, I went over to the buffet table again to help myself to some dessert. hehe.

And then, other activities went on such as games etc which I did not really take a picture of because sadly I forgot to bring my Zooming lenses. Worst thing was I was seated quite far from stage.

After that it was the real Award ceremony. There were prizes such as 'Wing's Best', 'Platoon 1 Best' 'Platoon 2 Best' 'Platoon 3 Best', and other awards.
And so when it came to Platoon 2 Best guess who clinched it?

.
.
.
. I think you already know by now. hahah
.
.
.

YAY MY BOYFRIEND! I was super proud of him considering how many people there were in the entire room and only 3 people got the award! And he was the only one who got it in his Platoon! :) He feels like he doesn't deserve it but I think he's just being too modest. haha

After everything was over... the lights suddenly dimmed, the smoke machine went on and all the guys stood up and suddenly took off their blazers and went upfront.

And they all started dancing!! FLASH MOB, INDEED!

In the picture above, do you see someone with a box on their head(that has 2 red lights aka eyes)? Hahah yeah that's Shafiq! He was forced to wear the 'Robot head' which he then shuffled in, in front of everyone! I didn't take a video :( because I was so far away from stage. sigh..

And lots of group photos afterwards to wrap up the day...

And that sums up the end of Social Night and my blog entry! Just wanna say that I am incredibly proud of my boyfriend for being such an all-rounder and for always excelling in whatever he does. Congratulations again baby! :D

Till the next blog entry! xoxo

Lots of Love,
Sofia Dendroff
