The BIG 2-0! ...............................................................
Happy Birthday to meeee, Happy birthday to meee, happy birthday happy birthday, happy birthday to muahhhh!~
I know I know this blog post is super belated since my birthday was last year on December the 16th and I'm only blogging about a month later! Anyway it's about time I shared with you guys what went down on my birthday itself!
So plans this year changed a little I guess. The people whom I thought I'd have spent it with this year I didn't. The plans for a birthday party didn't really happen this year either. Not that I'm complaining or anything because this year's birthday was somewhat a blessing in disguise.
So the day started with me going to school(of course). Sucky right? How my birthday was on a school day. Back in primary and secondary school I used to envy the girls in school who had their birthdays celebrated in school. Mine never happened because it was always the December holidays during my birthday. I'd take it all back if I could. hahah. But anyway, did I tell you guys that my last exam paper is on the 23rd of February? That's in about another month or so. I can't believe it either guys. 3 years has passed by so fast! I'm gonna be a Business graduate in a few month! Holy crappppp.
So as usual... I was late for school. Blah. I really need to stop sleeping so late. You know... nothing feels better in the world than sleeping in your bed when it's early in the morning. Hahah. Sometimes I wound up snoozing my alarm clock till it's about an hour later... and that's why I always end up late. Damn you snooze button! hahah
So when I got to class, I was obviously the last one to arrive. It was Akhbar's genius idea to get the teacher to 'scold' me when I arrived. But that didn't go so well because the teacher's too nice la. hahaha, i ended up smiling too, and suddenly the whole class sang a birthday song for me and i think I almost died in embarrassment right there and my cheeks were going red(no not the blusher. hahah). Thanks guys. :)
AKHBAR. hahaha
Qurratul and Farie! :)
Falila and Q :)
So after class ended, Falila, Qurratul and I walked out of school together and started discussing birthday plans. I had no idea what the plan was or who was really gonna celebrate it with me but I was beyond excited anyway just knowing my friends were willing to plan something for me. I used to envy girls who had surprise parties I guess cos I always wanted one. I did have one when I was 18 though. hehe. Well you know what they say.... Nothing is better than a surprise.
Throughout the day I had friends wishing me in school. It was really so nice to know that people knew it was my birthday! People I never expected would even bother wishing me on my birthday did. Couldn't be more grateful and thankful! :)
Even bumped into an ex primary school friend! Sheena! :) we've been friends since we were in Primary 1! hahah. the 2 of us used to be the shortest and smallest in class which was how at one point in our lives, we were really really close(almost bestfriends you could say).
It's sad when they say that people will always walk in and out of your life. Only very few ever do stay throughout your life. But for the most part, they always say that the ones that do walk out of your life, don't hate them or blame them, for fate always has its reasons. Every person who has walked in another person's life had a reason to. Maybe it was to help build them up when they were at their lowest? Maybe it was when they needed a friend when they had none? There's always a reason and purpose for everything. So no matter what happens to me, whether I lose friends, meet a new one etc, I'm always thankful! :) And you see.... somehow Sheena and I crossed each other's paths after having not met in years. And what do you know.. in the most unexpected place as well.
So the plan that they all made was for me to get ready by around 6.30ish. Que was supposed to come pick me up from downstairs my house and they'd bring me somewhere.OR SO.. THAT WAS THE PLAN... hahaha.
At around 6pm, the doorbell suddenly rang. I went out with my leopard-printed towel wrapped around my head and suddenly heard little giggles when I walked towards my door. And that was when I knew. I popped my head out a little and saw my friends. The moment they saw me, they sang really loudly "Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday to you! Happy birthday to Sofiaaaa, Happy birthday to you!!".
I think I cried on the inside. Hahaha. it was really so sweet seeing my friends who live really far away by the way, make the effort to come all the way down to my place just to surprise me! Even though I had a towel wrapped around my head, I didn't care. I just came out to thank them. Falila had it all video-recorded!! hahaha, wanted to include the video in but I've no idea how to convert the file. Bummer. otherwise you guys would have been able to see me don a towel around my head. hahaha
My birthday cake that they got me :D
Feeding everyone. Learnt this tradition during Shaheena's birthday last year. hahah.
And as usual Ahbar is always the one who gets disturbed. Practically stuffed the whole cake in his mouth. HAHAH. SEE MY FACE. TOO FUNNY CANNOT ANGKAT ALREADY.
Falila and Hong Ming! Hong Ming always looks blur. haha
Gave them each a piece of chalk to scribble on my wall!
See la this Shaheena. Keeps calling me Kak Sofia! tsk...not that old also Sha!
After which, we somehow had some stupid but really funny idea to doll Akhbar up! HAHAH.
Mostly Que's work! Haha, surprisingly it turned out quite nice!
And blue mascara to top it up!
VOILA! Hahah this is why guys should never attend sleepovers at a girl's house... this is one sad example of what will happen to them.
After that, Falila stole my camera to camwhore. hahaha
Aw... love them to bits and pieces la! ^^
and them toooo :)
So after cake cutting and hanging in my place for about an hour plus, we left and took the bus and train to another destination. One that I did not know of since they refused to tell me where we were going. :(
So when we alighted at Bugis MRT Station, I kinda suspected we'd be heading to Arab Street! And I was right!! heheh
Ate at Nasrin's! :D if that's how you spell it.
Shameemah and Shuhana also joined us soon after! Yayy! :D
Anyway the girls and boys sheesha-ed. I didn't. Had a pretty bad experience with it once. For some reason, everytime I sheesha, I just feel really giddy and I'd just feel like puking. Does anyone else feel this way too?
So everyone ordered food, and I ordered Hummus! :D
these two were just huffing and puffing away. hahaha
while I enjoyed my coke! :)
So,the night ended there!
Here's a video log to end off the blog entry! Some video footage shot throughout the day! :)
It was indeed a birthday I did not expect. I was expecting it this year to be something pretty small I guess since my boyfriend at that time was still in camp too and he could only celebrate it with me the next day! My family was out of Singapore as well, so my parents weren't around on my birthday for me to cut a cake with. :'(
But I'm so thankful to have these friends who cared enough to celebrate the day with me! :)
The very next day, my birthday was spent with Shafiq and his family! I wish I had pictures but it sucks that I forgot to bring my camera out! But anyway basically the entire family went for a seafood dinner at the Pasir Ris Fishing Pond! And the nice people who sponsored? Kak Nurul and Abang Sofian. One of the 2 funniest people I've ever met in my life. hahah! Thanks for the birthday dinner treat!
After dinner, went back to Shafiq's place with everyone else to cut the cake and for a card reading session, read out loud by Shafiq's dad. It was so nice to know that everyone wrote me a card! :') and in addition I had some extra 'presents' as well! mwahahha! I especially especially love the bag that Kak Diah got me for me! Thank you soo much la! You wait ok... when I get a stable job one day, I'll definitely buy for you guys a super duper nice birthday present for your birthdays! I don't like how I'm not allowed to right now just cos I'm not working. pffttt. hahaha wait k! Hopefully this year I can get a job after I graduate. LOL.
Thanks so much to everyone who celebrated with me and for making my birthday so special! And also thank you to Emily and Nadia for buying me a birthday cake as well during the MTV Music Video Launch.
Thanks to my friends who also texted/called me at midnight wishing me. And thanks to my boyfriend who stayed on the phone with me all the way till Midnight to wish me because he couldn't be there with me since he was in camp! (heartheart)
Last but not least, thank you to all my readers who formspring-ed me birthday wishes, tweeted me or even those who wrote on my wall! :D THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! ^^
Btw, I've already video-ed a brand new Video log for you guys! The long awaited "Skincare Routine/Products used". I'll post it up on the Beauty section of my blog! once I'm done editing it! Stay tuned~
