SUM 41 @ FORT GATE
............................................................

Heyyy guys!

So I'm back with another blog entry! Might I warn you that this blog entry is full of camwhore shots. Hahaha. Well... it really can't be helped... especially whenever I'm out with this girl called Namira! She's an even better camwhore than I am! Partially also the reason why she and I can get along sooooo damn well. We get excited and giggly everytime we start taking pictures. Retarded much? I know. But it sorta brings us closer together too. I guess only girls will be able to understand this.

Let's say... for example. You're at a party and you meet people you don't know for the first time. You're shy at first. But the moment you whip out your camera, all of you guys act as though you've been friends for forever. Hahaha. Well, I know that's happened to me many times! I'll admit, my camera is definitely a social tool I use to help me in the most awkward of situations!

So anyway... on the 12th of April, Sum 41 came to Singapore for a concert that was held at Fort Canning Park! I've always listened to Sum 41 since I was a young teenager anyway and so I thought.... WHY NOT? Why not just go for the concert? It beats rotting at home AND Besides... the only concert I've ever been to in my life was the last Click Five concert held a few years ago.

So yeah... Namira, Nadiah and I decided to go together for the concert! :D
And now for PICTURE TIME! I'll blog along with the pictures!

So before the concert, Namira and I decided to meet up first to have Sushi for lunch! I was having mad cravings for it.All I could think about the past couple of weeks was... Sashimi.. Sashimi....

If you don't know what Sashimi is... basically it's sliced fresh raw fish. I know when you say it like that, it doesn't sound too appetizing does it? But then again... I guess it's a taste that kinda grows on you. I know I was pretty grossed out too the first time I tried it. But it really tastes so much better than it looks. Hahah. I especially love love love Raw salmon. Hehe.

Hanging around with friends like Junping and Cleon during my Poly days... I learnt to eat a lot of Raw food. There were so many days where we'd just have Sushi after school. They introduced me to Raw Swordfish, Raw Oysters, Raw Tuna, Octopus and God knows what else. Hahaha.

Namira, Nadiah and I made a consensus agreement to use red lipstick together! We wanted to achieve the rocker look you see. Welll. I don't know how rocker-ish I look.

Was feeling so rockstar-ish, I decided to use my eyeliner to draw that star on my hand. Hahaha.

After sushi, we had time to kill for about an hour or so and so we decided to do what we both do best.... TAKE SHITLOADS OF PHOTOS. HAHA. There's so much more but I can't possibly post everything up so here's uh.... SOME(though 'some' is still technically pretty much alot)

The DUCK FACE.

I need to re-dye my hair :( Root are showing already. Soo uglyyyy..
Hm.... y'know I'm actually contemplating dying my hair Jet Black too... or Blue-Black... wonder if it'll suit me. Any thoughts?

Yes I wrote 'SUM 41' on my arm. Hahah.

Okay time for some self-camwhore shots. =X

So after wasting time camwhoring it was time to take a cab down to Fort Canning Park! :D

Entry Tags! :)

To be very honest I was expecting a much bigger crowd. When we got there... despite showing up about half an hour or earlier before the start of the concert, the place was only about half-filled. Or maybe even less than that.

I know back when I attended the Click Five concert.. despite it starting at 7 or 8pm, my friends and I were already queueing at 6.30am as crazy as that sounds. Hahah, and guess what? We weren't the first ones there! :P

Look at all the empty spaces!

We all waited for about an hour before Sum 41 FINALLY showed up. The concert was scheduled for 8pm... but we all waited till 9pm. Was pretty upset about that. :/

SUM 41 FINALLY CAME ON STAGE!

The moment he started singing the crowd went insane. I mean totally insane. Especially the guys la omg. I came without knowing that people actually mosh at Sum 41 concerts. I've never experienced a mosh pit before, let alone BEING MOSHED. It was definitely a huge shock to me. The moment the first song came on, man was I moshed like mad.LOL. I was caught in the middle of a mosh pit. All I remember was being flung and pushed around from one end to the other. During moshes, people generally start pushing and slamming each other la. Strangely, moshing is actually a style of dance. Say whutttt??

I didn't know what was happening because it all happened too fast. Thankfully I managed to get out of the mosh pit and.. I SURVIVED. Phew.Nadiah was going crazy though. She was pushing people around and basically just getting into the whole moshing thing. When I asked her 'Why so violent?'. She told me it was a way of releasing her anger. HAHAH. so cute lah.

I know it may seem pretty hard to fully understand what moshing really is so here's a little video footage I shot during the concert. Look at the Moshers. Well... IT COULD'VE BEEN WORSE! Thankfully everyone was just throwing pushes around and not fists. :B

All sweaty and disgusting. Hahah.

AFTER CONCERT PHOTOS.

After the concert there was a little meet and greet session that only a few people knew about. Thank God we didn't leave right after the concert. When the place was almost empty and when there were a few people left, the backstage crew guys of SUM 41 came up to us and asked 'Do you wanna meet the band?' !!!!!!!

I managed to snap a shot with Cone! By right noone was allowed to take a picture in the tent because of the time constraint. Cone was really nice though... he allowed me to take a photo with him! ^^ LUCKY ME :D And just look at how blue his eyes are and how white his skin is!!! Gahhhh! And look at how tan I look next to him! I swear I'm not even that tan! Or maybe it's cos my skin oxidized therefore making my face look darker than usual. :P

So after that, there was an After party nearby! It was only meant for those who bought VIP tickets but I don't know how, somehow the girls and I were let in too. Hahah.

SO LITTLE PEOPLE SOMEMORE! :D I feel so privileged and lucky ^^

AND OMG, I TOOK A PICTURE WITH DERYCK!!!!!!!!!!!!

The angmoh fellas we made friends with during the concert! Hahah. Can you believe the lady is 45 years old? o.o

So little did we know that we'd actually meet the Malaysian band Bunkface at the concert too! Hahha. I've only heard one of their songs my whole life. 'Situasi'. A pretty nice song I must say. And funny thing is, I didn't even know how they looked like.

So now you're probably wondering.... if that's the case, then how did you meet and know it was them? Well.. see I didn't. They told me they were Bunkface. Hahaha.

It all started when Sam approached me and asked for my help to take a picture for him and his friends. Soon after, we were talking and making friends. AND YEAH, THAT'S HOW WE BECAME FRIENDS. Ok lame. But yeah.... #truestory.

I swear Deryck was drunk. His face was so red and he looked all dazed. Hahah!

I look weird here but whatever.IT'S A PICTURE WITH TOM!

Sadly, I didn't manage to get a shot with Steve. :( Because when I wanted to, they were already leaving the tent. Oh wells... I'm just glad I got a shot with at least 3 of them. ^^

So after that... it was time to head back home!! Feet were aching like crazy. Just look at the picture below. My shoes were all muddy! :(

All in all it was an awesome experience. Would I ever attend a mosh pit again? FOR SURE! It was fun la but the only reason why I didn't really mosh much was because I wasn't really physically and mentally prepared for it. Aside from that, it didn't help that I was lugging around a bag with me. :P

So this marks the end of my blog entry! :D And nowwww..... my fingers are numb. So... till the next entry! Toodloo!

Lots of Love,
Sofia Dendroff
