So, the day finally came. The day another chapter in my life closes. Graduation. Who knew that 3 years would've flown by ever so quickly? I know I didn't. It almost feels just like yesterday when I first received my offer to study in Nanyang Polytechnic. And just look at me now. Back then, I was still worrying about being in a mixed school to be honest. Just worrying if boys will like me. Worrying if I was pretty enough. And look at me now. All grown up. 21 years old this year. The age where I'm officially considered a woman and an adult.
I honestly don't know what the next phase in my life will be. How this story will go on... Will I get a job? Settle with my Business diploma? Or will I further my studies? Get a degree? Will it be in Singapore? Will it be in Australia? What? I honestly have no idea and it scares me that I don't have a clue. I mean... I had 3 whole years, no wait, let's make that 20 years of my life to think about what I wanted to be when I grew up. And now when I finally have grown up, it's scary to think that even 20 years was never enough. Because, till this day, I still have no clue. To sum it up, I'm still figuring myself out. I'm still wondering despite spending 3 years of my life taking a diploma in Business Management, if being an office woman, a businesswoman rather, is the route that I want to choose in life. Do I really want that for the rest of my life? A part of me says yes, because well... let's face it... if I were to go down this route, it'll be really easy to get a job. But whatever happened to loving your job? Or do people just worry about money more than passion these days?
That's what scares me. To realize one day, that I could've done something different. I know I've always wanted to be in the media industry. I've said it ever since I was a little girl. And throughout my entire 5 years in secondary school, I've always told myself that the only course that I wanted to go into was Mass communications, and throughout that 5 years I told myself that the only job that I'd ever want was either a Radio Deejay or a News anchor. I know I know... I tend to dream big. But then again, what's wrong with that right? There's no harm in doing so. But I'd like to say that the plans I had for myself never really went according to plan since well... you know.. I ended up in a business course. So now that happens....? Get a degree in Mass communications? Get a degree in Business? You know what would be so awesome though?
A DOUBLE DEGREE. HELL YEAH. But, getting one degree itself is really not cheap at all. :P Any suggestions guys? I'd love to know what you guys think. Formspring me or something. I know this blog has been a little dead but don't worry, I'll get back to updating regularly as soon as I get a new laptop. So yeah lah.. PLEASE HELP ME OUT. T.T
So let me just carry on with the rest of this blog entry yeah? That was just a little something that I just had to let out because it's been on my mind for... FOREVER.
So yeah..... GRADUATION! HURRAH!
This is one of my bestfriends Falila and her mum! :) don't they look like sisters? Hahaa
My mum couldn't make it for my graduation sadly. But thankfully my Dad came down despite his busy schedule. ^^ Love my dad alot. :D
Gotta love the graduation robe! Hehe, most people rented theirs, I actually bought it. I know it's kinda silly to buy it since I don't think there's ever gonna be a 2nd time wearing it but well... it's not everyday you graduate you know. It's all just for memory-sake! :) hehe.
One day when I'm old and gray, I'm gonna show my graduation robe to my kids or my grandchildren and go "Look.. this was Granny's/mummy's graduation robe.." :')
As I was sitting down in the auditorium, tears trickled down my cheeks as I was looking at everyone. Everyone looked really good, most had their hair done at a salon. I didn't, I just did mine on my own. Hehe. Well.. I guess I just felt sad knowing that all of us went through 3 years together. Yes I may not have known more than half of them personally, but still... all of us really worked hard y'know to be sitting where we were. To even graduate. Kind of like a mixture of tears of joy and sadness! Happy that everyone's graduating, and sad that we're all moving on to another chapter in our lives. :')
Queuing up to collect my Diploma! :)
So after I went up stage to collect my diploma and such, it was time to camwhore with my friends! So be prepared for quite a number of camwhore shots! Hahah.
Junping, myself and our PEM! :) The mentor for our class. In secondary school, you'd call them 'Form teachers'. :)
Me and my buddy! :) The owners of Juicypotato. And yes I know.... we've been delaying the launch for the next collection. So sorry about that, but yeah... just be patient. Heh.
My year 1 classmate Ain and my friend Jayden(from the same lecture class as me). :)
Me and Jonathan! :) The photographer for Generation NYP - This school talent contest I took part in! If you didn't read my blog entry about that, go see it under Favourites! Hahah.
Falila and Hana.
One of my besties, Akhbar. I know it seems like I have alot of besties but I don't la. Hahaha
Year 1 friends! :) Kensiew, Falila, myself.
The Year 1 clique! :)
Year 1 Clique! (minus Qurratul). Hahah, and Ain's not in the picture. So sad that all of us got separated in Year 2. :(
Nysha and I :)
MR MARTIN! One of my favourite teachers! :) Honestly the most fun teacher I've had throughout my 3 years in Poly. I always look forward to his lessons. He just makes every class so much fun. Maybe it's because I'm always the one he picks on. Like I'd be talking to Falila and the next thing I know, a sponge ball gets thrown at me and everyone laughs. Haiyaaaaaaaaaa. But yeah, I'll miss Mr Martin for sure! :(
The inseparable duo - Hongming and Akhbar. Lolll.
:')
Fathin came down to say hi to me as well! :) really sweet of her.
Also, met this really adorable boy who asked me to take a picture with him! Hahaha.
Baidura and Falila! :)
Cleon's failed attempt to piggyback Hongming! Hahaha. Man I'm gonna miss these people. :'(
Part of my Year 3 class! :P
So after tons of photo taking it was time to head to the reception for the buffet spread that was prepared for all parents and graduands. Sadly, because we were all too carried away camwhoring; by the time we got there, most of the food was gone already. Lol. oh well....
We were left with the Vegetarian spread. I tried MOCK MEAT FOR THE FIRST TIME! LOL. Mock Meat = Vegetarian meat. Tastes like meat but it's made of soya beans/flour.
Okay but this was really chicken la. :P
Mock Beefballs?
Jayden and I. :)
The Indian Cleaning lady whom I talked about before in my Singapore Kindness Movement Nuffnang Sponsored Blogpost! I don't know if you guys still remember but yeah lah, this is her! :) Definitely gonna miss her too. Hahaha.
Aaron was really nice to drop by to say hi too since he was in school! :)
Akhbar and Miss Georgina.
So this kinda sums up my graduation. My next step in life? I have no clue. I guess, time will tell. Till then... I'll just take each day a step at a time and see what God has planned for me. :) Till the next blog entry.
