Our Germany Escapade (Part Two)
.............................................................

If you've not read Part 1 of my Germany Escapade, please click Click

before you read Part 2 of this entry!

So after a long 12 hour plane ride, we finally landed in Germany! Frankfurt to be exact. Boy was I excited as hell the moment the plane touched down. Even though my eyes were pretty red due to the lack of sleep and even though Sondra and I looked totally horrible because I've to admit, despite it being Singapore Airlines, trying to sleep in a chair is extremely difficult, if not, almost impossible. Our eyes were closed, but we were very much wide awake. Imagine being extremely tired but being unable to fall sleep. You toss and turn, and you toss and turn. You think you're fast asleep, but you wake up only to realize that probably 5 minutes have passed.

Seconds feel like minutes, minutes feel like hours, and hours feel like idk.... FOREVER?! Yeah. to sum it up. Torture. Hahaha. I know I said that I was looking forward to the plane ride before but... I guess after putting myself through that... I most certainly change my mind. In any case, I was super glad when we finally managed to get through the 13 hours that felt like eternity.

At this very point, Sondra and I were a little lost because we had noo idea where our tour group was! And so, we pretty much just followed the crowd in hopes of spotting a familiar face.

Notice how everyone was wearing pants? I was the only goondu wearing shorts. Hahaha. what's new la sofia? It was pretty much the same case in Perth too! I just don't like wearing pants :( It makes me look shorter.

So after finding our tour group, it was time to get our luggage! :D

I honestly think that it just wasn't my luck that day. If losing my entire accessories box wasn't enough(yes I lost it! I had a whole bunch of my favourite rings, necklaces, bracelets etc..), and even forgetting to bring my makeup brushes with me; my suitcase just HAD to give me problems too. I was unable to close it, and so I found myself stuck in the airport's toilet for about half an hour trying to close the damn thing.

In the end, thank God for our tour manager Victor who came to rescue to help me! Just gonna stick to luggages with zips next time. Such a hassle, really.

Me posing with the cupcake that Namira gave me! :D GERMAN FLAG!!

So after that, Sondra, myself and the rest of the tour group boarded the bus!
You'd think that after having to go through a 12 hour flight and arriving at around 7.45am or so in Germany, you'd be able to nicely check into a hotel to get the good night's rest that you've been yearning for, but noooo~ we had to go through another 8 hours of no sleep because we could only check in at around 3.30pm or so! :(
So yeah... it was pretty horrible. No sleep, makeup all smudged, contact lenses pretty dry(but luckily I removed it during the plane ride and just wore my spectacles), face all grimey and our bodies just all icky and gross....

What an impression Sondra and I would make aye? Hahaha. The first day was honestly just not really our day. The both of us were pretty grumpy because of how gross we felt. But oh well, nothing that the both of us could really do. You see, I guess that's one of the downside of following a tour group. You honestly have no say in the day's activities and plans. Everything has to go according to plan!

In zee bus. So since we all had 8 hours to spare or so. We started the tour! :) First up, touring Frankfurt for abit!

I absolutely adore all the pretty houses in Germany. It honestly just makes me really envious of how beautiful the houses there are. Just look at these pictures!

The trees are pretty bare because it was Spring! :) The leaves were only starting to grow because winter was not that long ago. Anywho the weather in Germany was lovely. It was neither hot or too cold. It was really cooling in fact. Love it!

Will you look at that? Just look at it! Tsk tsk tsk. How beautiful!

And we finally arrived at our destination!! :)

My jaw literally dropped open the moment we stepped foot off the bus. I don't think I've ever seen such a beautiful sight. And trust me, it'll only get better in my upcoming blog entries! Germany is just tooooo gorgeous!

Hair was all an icky mess. Hahaha but yeah la.... what to do....

The 'Botak' trees.

I really loved the cobbled stone roads. It gave me the whole 'medieval' kinda feel.

Pretty pretty buildings. Nuff said.

Using Sweep Panaroma on my camera to take a picture of the entire landscape.

So we were given some free time to just walk around, take pictures and such. Sondra and I were pretty tired, our energy was pretty low. But I have to say, THANK YOU STARBUCKS for if it weren't for you, I think the day would've probably gotten worse. Hahaha.

The both of us were so psyched when we saw Starbucks. Like we are just crazy Starbucks lovers. Back in Singapore, whenever we'd meet, it'd always be at Starbucks. Where do we go to study? Starbucks! What did she get me for my birthday a couple of years ago? A STARBUCKS CARD WITH VALUE INSIDE. HAHAH. Yup, just love starbucks alot.

And I guess you can say that this was pretty much our very first encounter with a German. Well besides the custom officers in Germany and this pretty nasty old lady we met in the toilet at Germany's airport... this was our first time having to interact with one. And so, we tried our best to articulate our words clearly so they could understand our English better. Hahaha, but to be honest, I was pretty glad to know that most of the Germans that we met throughout our stay were able to understand English pretty well and so dining in cafes and visiting shops and such was not a very difficult experience. :)

So Sondra had her usual Caramel Frappucino and I had my new favourite drink! It used to be Mocha Frappucino! But that was before I discovered, White Chocolate Mocha! Seriously, if you've yet to try it, please try it. Hot or cold, whichever you prefer. Both are still awesome. ;)

As you can see... it was pretty empty at this hour since it was still so early.

Some of the shops have yet to open too..

Love how blue the sky is! :)

Do you spot a lady with blue hair? Hahha. I'm assuming that's her rocker boyfriend or something. I don't know why but I was pretty fascinated by them and so I sneakily took a picture. Hehehe.

I mean... c'mon... BLUE HAIR!?! how rad!

One of my favourite things to photograph is animals. Like I'd literally get down on the ground and even lie down if I have to, if it means I'd take a good shot! Hahaha, people were staring because I was literally squatting down just trying to get a shot of this! And mind you, I was wearing shorts!

So after walking around Frankfurt for abit, we stopped by this beautiful garden that had tons of pretty Tulips and other flowers!

My first time seeing Tulips sooo upclose!

Not sure what flower this is, but it's really pretty isn't it? :)

If I had a wedding, I'd want a bouquet of colourful Tulips! That would be soo pretty. *.*

And so... after this, it was time to get onboard the bus and head off to our next destination... HEIDELBERG! :)

And as usual, I saw more pretty buildings!

In Germany, they don't have the kind of buses that we have over here in Singapore. In Germany it's kinda like a bus that's rooted to the ground. I don't know how to explain it. And in addition, the bus is really long as well! Definitely something I've never seen before.

And look at that, they have houses up that hill as well! Or mountain?Ok I don't think it's a mountain. Hahaha.

Cool huh?

So after the bus journey, we finally arrived in Heidelberg! Heidelberg was absolutely beautiful I must say. It was a pretty lively place with tons of people!

See the people in the picture? Yup! This is my tour group! Hahah, quite a number of old folk.

Sooo, I'm gonna let the pictures do the talking!

I just love how in Germany, it's much colder sitting outside than it is inside, if let's say you were to dine in a restaurant. Hahah. Even though it's sunny, it's still pretty cool.

It was such an awesome sight to see so many locals around, and tourists as well! I honestly couldn't believe what I was seeing. Everything just looked so beautiful. Even the tables and chairs. Hahah, it kinda felt surreal to me. I couldn't believe I was in Europe. IN GERMANY. Right there and then, I honestly couldn't have been more grateful to my parents for having funded my trip to Germany. So thank you Mum and Dad! :)

We were given about 2 to 3 hours of free-time to walk around, take pictures and have our lunch as well! And so Sondra and I visited the souvenir shops. I bought this really faux fur-tail chain that I hung on my bag as well!

Can you spot the fur-tail in the picture above? Heheh. In my next blog entry or so, I'll show it to you!

Cuckoo clocks! :) Germany is famous for their cuckoo clocks by the way. (FUN FACT).

After that, we headed inside the mini-mart just to see what stuff they'd sell in Germany.

Saw German bread and recalled having tried Pumpernickel last time(I had a German friend who introduced German bread to me). It tastes nothing like normal bread. In fact the texture, the taste, the appearance of the bread itself is nothing like our usual bread that we have over here in Singapore. Bought myself a loaf for fun. Lol!

Because of how fickle minded Sondra and I were, the both of us spent about an hour just walking up and down the entire stretch of the road just trying to find a restaurant to sit down and have our lunch at.

Up and down we walked....

I even had to sit down to take a short little break because my feet were already starting to hurt.

And had some German bread. Hahah! The taste kinda grew on me. I've to admit, the first time I tried it, I was pretty much repulsed by the taste, but the more I ate it, the more I liked it. I like it so much that as I'm typing this very blog entry, I'm actually munching on some German bread. Hehe. Kinda tastes salty, yet a little bit like raisins. Very chewy... I don't know how to describe the taste. You're gonna have to try it out for yourself!

The picture above -> A local cinema in Germany.

Street act.

And so after walking around for sooo long, we finally found a place to dine at!

I had tomato soup and french fries! Just a very simple meal because we weren't really feeling that hungry, surprisingly. The tomato soup was insanely good though I must say! Yumyum.

And guess what we saw in Heidelberg as well?

THIS!!

Where on earth do you see a car like this being driven on the roads?

And a dog all geared up like this?

Well... only in GERMANY i say! Hahaha, extremely adorable!!

So, after Heidelberg, it was finally time to check into our hotel at Stuttgart! The journey from Heidelberg was pretty long and so we all took a short nap in the bus. MY FIRST SLEEP IN HOURS!

Woke up to realize that we had reached our destination! Yayyy!! Finally!!
I was just sooo excited to get out of the clothes I was wearing and take a much awaited shower.

The NH Stuttgart Airport Hotel! :) 4 stars, business class hotel if I'm correct.

Waiting to get our keys to check into the room.

Look at everyone's tired faces. Such a long day it was..

So after getting our key from Victor, we finally checked into our room!!

I was honestly very impressed with the room because I didn't expect the room to be so awesome considering the price we paid for the entire tour package.

Our comfy beds for the next 5 nights! The last night was to be spent at Munich.

The toilet bowl is on the other side of the picture above. But yeah, I was honestly too tired to take proper pictures of the room at this point because all I wanted was to just bathe and sleep! Hahah, so yeah, I apologize for the lazy shots. :P

Unpacking! Hehe. Yup,that's my luggage alright.

The snack bar.

And so after Sondra and I both bathed, changed out of our icky clothing and relaxed for abit, it was dinner time! And guess where we went to have our dinner?
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
Nowhere! WE HAD ROOM SERVICE BABY!~

It was pretty embarrassing la I must say.Know why? :( The waiter who brought the food to us was so cute. And guess how I looked at that point?

I HAD MY HAIR ALL WRAPPED IN A TOWEL LA GUYS. T.T BOOHOO. He actually laughed at me know! walaooo eyyyy. But oh well, I was too hungry to bother about him la. Hahaha.

Hehe, eating in style!! :)

I had a delicious Caesar's Salad! :D yummy yummy.

We had pizza too! which we barely finished. I don't think we even ate half of it. It was just too much for both of us. :P

Sondra had Larvae Cake!

And I don't know where this came from... but I think they served us free bread? Hahaha.

So after dinner, we headed out of the hotel for abit for a short little stroll. The weather was pretty cold at this hour and so we definitely needed our coats on lest we free to death.

And that pretty much sums up Day 2 of Germany! :)

So yeah, till the next entry guys! I promise you it gets more interesting! Haha! Alright,my fingers are numb from all the typing! I started on this at 8pm.. and gosh look at the time now... 1.35am! Take care! :) Till the next entry. I apologize in advance if there are any typos. Hehe.

Lots of Love,
