OUR GERMANY ESCAPADE - Part 1 ........................................................................
Hey guys! So I'm back from my 9 day trip in Germany. Well basically just 6 nights in total because 2 nights were spent in the aeroplane! Haha it was a gruelling 12 hour flight I must say. Stomach felt very queasy for 12 hours. Sucky thing about taking the window seat is that it's incredibly troublesome to go to the toilet because I'd have to disturb the two people sitting beside me.
But anyway, let me just share with you how I felt on MY BIG DAY. Hahha, ok why am I making it sound like as if I just got married or something? Well... it was a big day for me because firstly, it was the day that I was going to travel halfway around the world with one of my bestfriends, Sondra! Secondly because I've always wanted to go to Germany! AND LASTLY, it's because it was freaking EUROPE! The thought of it was enough to make me all jumpy and squealy the night before. It was really hard to sleep I admit because I was just sooo veryy excited. I have to add though, that packing is such a chore. Having to separate liquids into ziploc bags is probably the most annoying, but oh well, regulations are regulations. And a little tip, don't be like me okay... I packed my luggage at the very last minute you see because my laziness got the better of me(as always). And in the end what happened?
I forgot to bring my makeup brushes. How awesome. Had all my makeup stuff with me. My blusher, my bronzer etc. But NO FREAKING BRUSH. Lol. Only realized I didn't have it when I was already on the plane to Frankfurt. Kinda panicked a little because I was afraid I couldn't find any store in Germany selling makeup brushes. Okay probably was very stupid of me to think that way but hey, I was panicking. So maybe I over reacted a little. Thank God when I landed, I managed to find a makeup brush at Frankfurt's Duty Free store. However it was really expensive. :( I wasted around 20 euros on a single brush.
So take my advice guys, never pack at the last minute! I've definitely learnt my lesson. :P
So anyway, on the day I left I was really happy that I had a couple of friends who wanted to send me off. Unfortunately it was a midnight flight so... I told my friends who had wanted to come such as Falila, Junping and Akhbar etc... to just stay home instead. Besides, it's not like I won't be coming home right? Hahah. But I have to say, I'm still really touched that despite how late my flight was, Namira and Nadiah still insisted to come send me off. I really love these two alot lah. We always have such a fun and crazy time together. I really couldn't be more thankful to have friends like these two.
They were both really sweet and thoughtful too. I honestly did not expect them to come send me off with this little 'go-away present'.
CUZTOMIZED CUPCAKES!! :') How can I not love them?!
Happy little me. :D Oh and the cupcake with the black, red and yellow stripes. It's that way because that's supposed to represent the German flag.. since well, I was heading for Germany. Hahaha. how creative of them! ^^ I didn't even realize it at all until Namira told me.
My rival in Love. LOLOL. SOMON & DAMONAM.
If you watch Vampire diaries you'll probably be familiar with the character Damon. Well the both of us always 'fight' over him. She's delusional la. Obviously it's Sofia + Damon = SOMON. Damon + Namira = DAMONAM (wtf?!?!). Sounds like some Digimon/Pokemon characrter la. SOMON FOR THE WIN! HAHAH :D
So after chilling in Starbucks for abit, Damonam got hungry and so we headed to Macdonalds for a quick bite.
This is why I love Namira! We're just crazy like that. Well she's crazier than me la of course. But that's why I love her so much. HAHA. Super fun person to hang with. Just look at this picture above. It's no wonder my dad calls her a Gremlin. ahahah.
The 3 of us = LOVE. :D

So we took the skytrain to Terminal 3 because apparently... I'm departing from that terminal! :) So awesome that I was gonna be taking the Airbus 380 la! It's the new plane in case you guys don't know. It's the one with 2 storeys and is insanely HUGE.
Hehehe.. we just couldn't resist being little kids all over again! Who cares what people think about us? Everyone's a kid at heart! :)
I'm doing Namira's 'Gremlin' Face. Hahaha. ok I tried. I think she does a better job at it though. lol
So after getting to Terminal 3, we met up with Sondra, her parents and my family! :) Then,it was off to check in our luggage!

My luggage is the glossy one. And it weights a whopping 26.2kg. Insane. I don't understand how it could weigh that much. Must be the shoes, bags and coats. :S
Hahah dammit this picture is blur. But yeah, that's my Mum in the middle tryna blend in. HAHA. It's awesome how Nadiah and Namira can get along so well with my parents actually. So well that all of us are deciding to watch a movie together. Like one big happy family. :D
And guess who came to send me off too?

Shafiq!!! :) It was really nice of him to come send me off. Didn't expect him to come at all but he did. Hehe, Thanks Shafiq! :D
Younger brother also came! :D Sadly, my older brother couldn't this time. :(
Took a pic with my mum! Tsk.. her eyes are always closed in photos. Haha people say we look alike. Do we actually? I really can't see much of a resemblance because her features are super sharp and mine isn't even that sharp. Lol

So after sitting down and chilling in Coffee Bean, it was finally time to depart! :D Was super excited at this point already. Probably way more excited than Sondra was but that's because I'm just naturally a very hyper person so that probably explains why. Hahah.

So after this it was time to head on inside. Said our goodbyes and off we were for probably the biggest adventure of our lives. Germany! Two small girls against the world. Okay you probably must be thinking I'm soooo not smalllll. Well, I say that because once upon a time Sondra and I both used to be incredibly puny and of the same height. The funny thing is back then, we were enemies. Back in the good ol Primary school days. According to her I used to bully her by calling her short and small(We used to be in the same Malay class y'see). The ironic part? I was about the same size as her. HAHAHA.
So yeah she grew up pretty much looking at me as just the girl who used to bully her in primary school. Little did we know that 9 years later or so, we'd be in the same class again. AND. Sitting beside each other. It was full of awkwardness for a few months but I'd like to say I managed to earn her trust and friendship as the months went on. And now, well, she's one of my bestest friends. :) and one of my few true friends that I trust entirely.
Looking back one last time at them. and then... they disappeared.

Both of us had to remove our boots. :P what a hassle.

Excitement level 20/10!!! HOLY SHIT! THAT'S ONE HUGE PLANE. That was the first thing that came to my mind when I saw the Airbus 380. Lol
Was greeted by the beautiful air stewardesses. Really gotta say most of them are reallly beautiful! Couldn't stop gawking at them. Hahaha.
So when I was in the plane, I was super excited to start using the in-flight entertainment. The last time I sat on an SIA plane was back when I was in Secondary 3. But that was only a short flight to Bangkok and so I couldn't really make full use of the in-flight entertainment. This time round... I had 12 whole hours to do so. In fact, the plane ride was actually slightly longer than 12 hours. Around 12 hours and 45 minutes I'd say?
The first thing I watched? . . . . . . .
Who lives in a pineapple under the sea? SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS! :D I'll never get sick of this show. It's just too darn cute. Hahaha. Another cartoon I'd probably never get sick of is Powerpuff girls too, but sadly they didn't have that. :(
After awhile... Supper was served! :)
The food was absolutely delicious but I didn't manage to eat everything because it was just TOO MUCH FOR ME.
There was thai green curry with rice, some sorta smoked salmon salad with pasta, cheese & crackers, cheesecake and bread & butter.

Sondra had some dish called beef goulash or something. Looks like that(picture above).
The yummy smoked salmon pasta. SUPER YUMMY but I was too full by the time I got to this. :P
Despite the in-flight entertainment, I have to say that the hours passed by a little too slow. And like I mentioned in the earlier part of this blogpost, it really didn't help that my tummy was feeling queasy. I had to keep running to the toilet a few times. At times I'd just hold it in because it's really troublesome to go to the toilet especially if you're at the window seat. (Lesson learnt too... I'll just take the aisle seat next time!).
It was hard sleeping on the plane. Times like these, I really missed my bed. Sondra and I barely slept a wink because it was just too darn difficult to sleep on the plane. And so... morning came...
And so did breakfast.
Yums! :)
So anyway by the time we reached Frankfurt, Sondra and I were really exhausted and jetlagged.

And we finally landed!
The sucky thing was that we still had to survive and make it through another 7-8 hours after the plane ride before we could head to the hotel. In case you guys don't know yet, we followed a tour group. When we landed it was near 8am. Check-in time at the hotel was around 3pm plus. Bummer.
But oh well... I'll update you guys with what happened next in the next blog entry! :) So stay updated with my blog/twitter for that! Hope you've enjoyed reading thus far!
